After success the last time (and as requested by various future inspectors), we had to have another bouncy castle BBQ Party for the friends and family of Weld Integrity 🍖 🥩 🏰

A new additon to the clan joined us for the first time, and Mona received her surprise new motorbike from our very own Jani. After the party we went to Jærnåttå festival to enjoy the great atmosphere that Bryne has to offer 🎸 🥁 🎙 🕺 💃

Another great example of defects found in a machined component 💪

This time, fluorescent magnetic particle inspection was the method of inspection utilised to check for defects. Our operators found severe surface fatigue cracking on the parts. ✅ This method involves spraying the component with a fluorescent ink that contains small magnetic particles. Any surface discontinuities will then be visible once a magnetic field is applied to the inspection area and a UV light is used to observe the part.

Thanks to our methods and skilled inspectors, our customer was able to replace the component before failure of the component while in-use could have caused a much bigger problem. Without checking for these kind of defects routinely, there is an increased risk of damaging the assembly, stopping production, and increasing costs.

Upon inspection of a weld between two machined components, our inspector discovered some severe cracking in the heat affected zone of the material.

The inspection extent was increased to check the rest of the machined material, and further areas with surface cracking were also observed.

The inspection methods used and the experienced inspectors implementing these methods provide a great solution for assuring material compliance and weld quality assurance.

Family is everything 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

What better way to celebrate the growth of Weld Integrity than to invite all of our employees and their families, to a company BBQ with some fun, games and a big bouncy castle for the little ones? 🏰

We have lots of new faces in the company this year and its important to get to know all of them and their families. Two of our newer employees have even moved their families and lives to the area from Poland and Finland in order to work for Weld Integrity, so its important to make them feel at home 😍 😍 😍

Thank you to Håland Kjøtt for doing an amazing job of cooking us all a perfect bbq, even if you had to move inside halfway through because of the heavy rain 😋 🍖

A big thank you to Sola Aircraft Maintenance for involving us on this project to help maintain a Spitfire.

This beautiful machine is 80 years old and is still flown regularly for exhibition and recreational purposes.

The Supermarine Spitfire is a British single-seat fighter aircraft used by the Royal Air Force and other Allied countries before, during, and after World War II. Many variants of the Spitfire were built, from the Mk 1 to the Rolls-Royce Griffon-engined Mk 24 using several wing configurations and guns. This particular Spitfire is a Mk16 powered by a Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engine.

We had a great day approving the parts that we had to inspect while working alongside the experts from Sola Aircraft Maintenance. It was also pretty interesting to see the other machines that were present in the hangar. These included a F51 Cavalier Mustang , a German Fiesler Storch from the 1930's, and a Ryan STA also from the 1930's

On the 2nd of July, Weld Integrity had been in operation for exactly 5 years ✅

During these 5 years, we have grown from a 1-man company to a national organisation with additional branches 💪💪💪

We have completed numerous assignments all over Europe and now also the USA, as well as consistently delivering day-to-day inspection services to our loyal customers both onshore and offshore in Norway 🇳🇴

Our future is just as exciting as our past. There is a lot of exciting developments to come in the near future 😎

To celebrate our 5-year anniversary, we all went to Gdansk for the weekend. As you can see from the pictures, it wasn't difficult to have fun with a team like ours! Here's to the next 5 years! 🍾💥🎉

One of many defects in some carbon steel raw material that was found under inspection by Weld Integrity 🕵‍♀️

Initially, ultrasonic inspection was conducted to check for laminations on a small percentage of the total material batch. When indications of defects were observed, the total percentage of inspection was increased and many more defects were found visually, with magnetic particle inspection and with ultrasonic inspection. A sample of the material was cut away and bent to show the propagation of one of the defects.

Ensuring the quality of purchased materials ultimately boosts the lifetime of the finished product, and affirms that the correct processes have been utilised during raw material production ✅ 💪

These are the employees of tomorrow, and we will be there to make sure the next generation of inspectors at Weld Integrity keep up to scratch with our current standard of workmanship.
