Banke UNESCO Club organized a 3 days’ Review and Strategy Planning workshop for strengthening the organization capacity supported by Plan International and Qatar Charity Nepal. During the workshop thoroughly reviewed the current vision, mission, goal and its impact including new opportunities and risks of the strategy plan. The various policies related with institutional development was also reviewed and discussed on key issues to be incorporated for the improved policy and governance in the organization. The project crews together with BUC management team enthusiastically participated in the workshop and shared their valuable views. Mr. Madhu Dawadi the facilitator facilitated the workshop in a comprehensive manner.

On behalf of participants Mr. Gulam Gaus the Program officer and Ms Anisa Neupane of Chomlunga UNESCO Center, Kathmandu expressed their view and told the workshop very fruitful since it enhanced their Capacity. Similarly the Executive Director of the organization Mr. Sajid Ali Siddiqui delivered in his speech that strategy Plan and other organization’s related policies are crucial in institutional development. Finally BUC’s Chairperson Mr. Ravi Kumar Tuladhar highly appreciated the meaningful participation of the participants. The closing session was conducted by Mr. Mahesh Nepali the Program Coordinator and the Chief Patron Mr. Parwej Ali Siddiqui, Former Chairperson Mr. Rajendra Chaudhary, treasurer Ms Firdaus Jahan, General Secretary Mr. Budhesh Jaiswal and Board member Ms Mina Bhusal of Banke UNESCO was also present on the occasion.

Under the PCEF Project being implemented in partnership with Plan International Nepal, BUC conducted training for 3 days on Organizational development, reporting, and documentation with Palika-level CSO members in Thakurdwora- Bardiya. This event was conducted with the aim of enhancing the capacity of CSOs on organizational development, reporting, and documentation. Representatives of CSO from 4 Palika had been participated in the training. Basant Kumar BC facilitated this training. The formal session of the training was conducted with the clarification training's objective by Mahesh Nepali-PC of BUC and Budhesh Jaisawal -General secretary of BUC inaugurated this formal session of the Training. In the closing session of the program, Mr. Parwej Ali Siddiqui – chief patron, and Mr. Siraj Khan – Senior advisor of BUC presented as special guests. Both special guests provided training certificates to the participants. Closing session of the training was conducted under the chairmanship of Mr. Netra Prasad Sapkota – CSO member of Badhaiyatal and Ms Dikchha Bist from CSO -Rajapur was the chief guest of the Closing session. Mr. Gulam Gaish, Mr. Shankar Singh Tharu and Mr. Janak Ram Tharu from BUC participated in the training.

Banke UNESCO Club in partnership with Plan International Nepal implemented Emergency Flood Response Project in 4 municipalities of Bardiya district namely Gulariya Municipality, Bansgadhi Municipality, Barbardiya Municipality and Thakurbaba Municipality in benevolent support with Start Network and UKAid. The project started form 15 August 2023 and came to an end by 25th September 2023.

In relation to this, a district level Exit Meeting was organized at District Administration Office, Gulariya in the chairmanship of Chief District Officer Mr. Narayan Prasad Risal and the other distinguished guests were Deputy Mayor of the Palika Ms Sabitra Gautam and Assistant Chief District Officer Mr. Mohan Prasad Aryal. Mr. Manoj Poudel, the Program Coordinator of the project did small presentation focused on the implemented activities, best practices, learning and challenges.

Mr. Narayan Prasad Risal the Chief District Officer highly appreciated the endeavours and support provided during emergency for the relief of the flood affected families and relief material distribution such as hygiene and dignity kit, food and nutrition support, repair and maintenance of the hand pump and toilet including road and drainage including embankment.

On behalf of Plan International Ms Neelm Parajuli the Emergency Response Manager, Mr. Janak Giri the Sponsorship Coordinator, Mr. Hasrat Ali Kasgar the Monitoring Evaluation Research and Learning officer, Mr. Bimal Gaire the Program officer. Similarly, Mr. Ravi Kumar Tuladhar the Chairperson, Mr. Sajid Ali Siddiqui the Executive Director, Mr. Manoj and Mr. Govind Lamichhane the Program Coordinator and Mr. Radheshyam the Field Supervisor of Banke UNESCO Club participated in the exit meeting.

The concerned authorities highly appreciated the endeavor of Plan Nepal, Start network UKAid and Banke UNESCO Club for this emergency response and supported to the vulnerable affected families in their municipalities. Mr. Manoj Poudel and Mr. Govind Lamichhane the Program Coordinator of BUC facilitated the session.
