Happy Añam day ea kamie memak dañõ me amen bwio from Aiwo. Añam is such an awesome story of Naoero’s strength, resilience and determination. Proud Nauruan me emin Aiwo 😍❤️💛🖤

Angam means jubilation, celebration, triumph and home coming, and a mark of survival of the Nauruan people.

Twice in Nauru’s history did her population drop to near extinction. Both times it was decided that in order to survive as a race Nauruans needed to increase the minimum population, and so 1,500 was set as the target.

The influenza outbreak of 1918 decimated the population and so the race to reach 1,500 began, then on 26 October 1932, Angam baby girl Eidagaruwo was born making her the 1,500th Nauruan. Her birth date would be celebrated as Angam Day and is a public holiday in the Nauruan calendar.

Sadly, she died during exile on Truk (now Chuuk) in the Federated States of Micronesia during WWII. Once more the population dropped below 1,500 as a result of the war and the need to revive the population resurfaced.

On 31 March 1949, baby girl Bethel Enproe Adam was born, restoring the minimum count, and the survival of the Nauruan race was sealed.

While the significance and importance of the second Angam is not diminished, the birth date of the first Angam baby is commemorated.

HAPPY 90th ANNIVERSARY OF ANGAM 🇳🇷

❤️ The image of the child musician crying was classified as one of the most emotional photographs of modern history.

This photo was taken of a 12-year-old Brazilian boy (Diego Frazzo Turkato), playing the violin at the funeral of his teacher who rescued him from the environment of poverty and crime in which he lived.

In this image, humanity speaks with the strongest voice in the world:

"Cultivate love and kindness in a child to sow the seeds of compassion. And only then you will build a great civilization, a great nation "...

Ekamawir omo ea amen bwio me daño Ian Aiwo. Atubwa Temoniba dōgin marane wa page. Welcome aij kamie memak ea "An kadaedaenigawae Eimaoa emin Aiwo". (Excuse the typo on my page title but I will correct it once I learn how to do it 🙂...)

For the disbelievers (lol!!) you can find the word "ekadaedaenigawae" or "kadaedaenigawae" which means 'conversations', in I Peter 1: 18 of the Nauruan Bible.

Looking forward to growing this new addition of my campaign journey which I hope (Lord willing) will officially start on Monday 08th Nov when I post my first video.

Keep your eyes on this page for my 1st session when I talk about the name of my campaign page and how it supports my political perspective.
