It's incredible to see how we're making a difference through sustainable initiatives, thanks to our partnerships with ImpacTex NZ and Medical Aid Abroad (MAA). When the NZ Post supply chain team faced a challenge with unneeded post bags, ImpacTex let us know and we jumped into action!

These bags are now being repurposed by MAA volunteers to deliver critical medical supplies to communities in places like rural Fiji, Africa, and Latin America.

We're super proud to have played a part in this initiative, knowing that these bags are now supporting MAA's vital work. It's partnerships like these that highlight the power of sustainability and community impact, ensuring that no resource goes to waste while helping those who need it most.

Last month, Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora asked us to help whānau in Wairoa hit hard by flooding. Over 400 households have been affected, many left without bedding and linen, some even retrieving items from rubbish piles due to local shortages.

Our Palmerston North and Richmond branches quickly jumped into action, providing much needed linen, with Robbie Semu from our Napier branch facilitating the deliveries. Richard Mahood and his Richmond team also sent duvets, quilts, blankets, and bathrobes to those in need.

Check out this fantastic article from our friends at CrestClean! It highlights the strong partnership we’ve built with the CrestClean team in the Hawke's Bay region.

Since 2016, we've been working hand-in-hand with CrestClean, and our collaboration has consistently delivered great results for our customers. We also support new CrestClean franchise owners with start-up kits that include quality cleaning tools like mops and buckets.

Recently, CrestClean's Hawke's Bay Master Franchisee, Tim O'Leary, showed his appreciation by presenting Client Manager Lyn Larking and her colleague with restaurant vouchers. It’s always rewarding to see such a positive and ongoing relationship!

Nice work team👍

Over the weekend, we made our way to The Fortress Eden Park to watch the All Blacks vs England game! We were excited to bring along some well deserving people from two charities Alsco Uniforms supports: Kidney Kids (below photo) and Ronald McDonald House.

CEO of Kidney Kids, Ian Potter (left) notes that these kids were so beyond thrilled to get the news that they were going to watch an All Blacks game.

Everyone got to take home some awesome merch packs too, including All Blacks branded scarves!

A very exciting update from us at Alsco Uniforms NZ. We're making significant strides towards our sustainability goals as we work to completely transition away from coal as an energy source ♻️

Our Group Chief Executive, Mark Roberts, recently visited MHM Automation in Christchurch to see the new biomass boiler being manufactured which will be installed this September.

By the end of the year, we'll also be replacing the boiler at our Invercargill branch with a biomass one!

Big steps, big change at Alsco Uniforms NZ.

It's all about thinking outside the 'cabinet' for Hamilton branch!

The branch faced a unique challenge recently: a top 100 customer needed an eye wash cabinet for their food manufacturing business in a wet production environment, (typically areas exposed to a lot of moisture or salt water as well!). With a major site-wide audit looming in mid-June 2024, our standard cabinet simply wouldn’t cut it. So, we rolled up our sleeves and got to work!

The team displayed several of Alsco Uniforms' core values to tackle this challenge:

🔧Productivity: Through regular site visits, we identified a potential issue and sprang into action.

🤝Accountability: In discussions with the customer, we acknowledged there could be a better solution and took responsibility to find it.

🌱Nurture: To maintain our strong customer relationship, we collaborated with a local plastics company (one of our customers) to craft an alternative cabinet suited for the harsh environment. Our commitment to the customer’s success, especially with their upcoming audit, truly sets Alsco apart. We believe in going the extra mile and being a proactive solution provider.

💡Originality: Thinking outside the box, we teamed up with Amtech and local suppliers to devise a creative and effective solution. The installation was completed quickly, and the customer is thrilled with the outcome.

See our branch manager, Daniel Holmes proudly showcasing and delivering the new fit for purpose eye wash cabinet!

At Alsco Uniforms, we’re dedicated to delivering the best possible service and provide innovative solutions.

Another fantastic evening at Eden Park for the Blues vs. Brumbies semi-finals! 🏉

We had the pleasure of bringing along Keri and her partner Jarrod, both of whom are currently staying at the Ronald McDonald House while their child is unwell. This game was a much-needed break for the two of them as they have been staying at the House for some time now.

Alsco Uniforms were honored to accompany this brave family and remain grateful to Ronald McDonald House for providing essential care and comfort, supporting families just like Keri and Jarrod.

We're thrilled to announce our latest donation to Medical Aid Abroad (MAA), a charitable trust we admire for its work in providing unused medical goods to developing countries, especially in the Pacific Islands. MAA sends about 2,000 cartons of medical supplies annually, which would otherwise end up in landfills, to those in need.

Since 2016, Alsco Uniforms has supported MAA by covering vehicle expenses including rego, WoF, and fuel. In 2019, we donated a van, and this week, we've gone further by providing a bigger and better van from our Nelson branch. Monique Welsh, our GM for New Zealand & Asia, handed the keys to MAA’s Chairman, Murray Kerr, and Stores Manager, Kim Kempthorne.

A huge thank you to:
❤️ Richard and the Alsco Uniforms Nelson team
❤️ Shane from Wide Glide Panel Beaters in Kingsland
❤️ Glenn, Rod, and the Brave Design team in Henderson

Special thanks to Darrell Alvey from Auckland Fresh & Clean for delivering the blank van to Brave Design, where it received a new livery at no cost.

Look out for the new van on the road next week, delivering essential supplies to those who need them most! 🌍💚

This King's Birthday weekend, Alsco Uniforms had the privilege of inviting two incredible families from Ronald McDonald House Auckland (RMHC) to attend the Blues v Chiefs rugby game at Eden Park. These families, currently staying at RMHC, are facing challenging times as their children battle serious illnesses.

Sherene and her son, Te Waarakihi, were joined by their close friend. Te Waarakihi, diagnosed with aplastic anaemia, has been waiting for the day his bone marrow shows a sign of recovery before they can return home. The family has been staying at RMHC for three months now, relying on the charity's support during this tough journey.

Ray, along with his son Vance, attended the game as well while his daughter, Daisy, remains in Starship Hospital. Daisy, who has just turned three years old, suffered a fall that led to the discovery of a large tumour pressing on her brain stem. Her family has been staying at RMHC for 12 weeks now.

The opportunity to attend this game was a much-needed escape for these families, offering a brief respite from hospital walls and medical routines. Alsco Uniforms were honoured to bring along these brave families and grateful to RMHC for providing such essential care and comfort.

We had a great afternoon hosted today by the lovely Michelle and Kaye at the Ronald McDonald House Charities New Zealand in Auckland today. Our Regional General Manager, Robbie Turnbull, and our newly appointed General Manager for New Zealand and Asia, Monique Welsh, opened up our rebranded Alsco Uniforms sponsored room.

We provide linens to this site and have sponsored a Ronald McDonald Charity House room for over 3 years now in which we provide the linens for all of the bedding. Last year alone, this sponsored room hosted 41 families from across New Zealand and even a family from Tonga, with one family staying a total of 46 nights.

Each one of the cards you see on the table has been written to us by the families who have stayed in the room saying thank you, which is such a heartwarming thing for us to read and we are so happy to be able to help families like these during such difficult and stressful times.

Thanks again for having us Michelle and Kaye and we're excited to see how we can continue to grow and expand this sponsorship ❤️
