Step into the world of 'Fat City,' a challenging noir format created by Jason Geary. Set in a gritty, fictional American city, this workshop pushes you beyond typical crime stories to explore deep, character-driven narratives. It's about playing authentic stories, not just the genre. Drawing on the skills honed in the workshop, a select few may even have the chance to perform in this unique show. But remember, performing isn't guaranteed—this is an opportunity to truly elevate your craft.
Join us for Jason Geary's 'Love' workshop, where you'll dive into a deeper, more grounded form of improv. This experience challenges you to drop your usual crutches and embrace the truth and joy of being fully present in the scene. Guided by Jason as director, you'll explore a wide range of character skills that go beyond the comedy-focused shows you're used to. Those who excel may even be selected for a special performance. This is a rare opportunity to elevate your craft and connect with your fellow improvisers on a whole new level

The Covert was blessed to have the amazingly talented Larry Dorsey from San Fransisco teach a freestyle rap workshop this weekend. 34 members of the theatre got the treat of learning from this wonderful teacher. He's been traveling on a whirlwind tour around the world and at the end of the workshop, on an empty stomach, he accepted our challenge to rap about the Covert with us throwing three unknown random words at him (Philosophy, Essential, Celebration). This is what he made up on the spot - enjoy!
