HMNZS Canterbury
On this day in 1971 HMNZS Canterbury, a Leander Class Frigate, was commissioned into the RNZN. Built by Yarrow & Co. Ltd at Scotstoun, Glasgow Scotland. She departed England on 1 June 1972 and arrived in Lyttelton via Panama and Pearl Harbor on 4th August.
