The word 'and' is a powerful word. It is a meeting point of two realities.

What does this mean?

It means I can move 'and' I can settle...it can mean nothing 'and' everything.

It means that you can make your best effort 'and' not be THE best.

It means you can love someone 'and' not wanting to spend your life with them.

It means you might want it 'and' not need it.

It means you can respect a point of view 'and' not agree.

It means I'm open 'and' scared at the same time.

It means that we don't exclude other perspectives 'and' realities that happen at the same time. The duality becomes reality.

It means perhaps feeling relief 'and' sorrow, 'and' both are allowed. Being brave 'and' feel vulnerable. Being surrounded by people 'and' still, feel alone.

It means being scared 'and' still have the balls to do it.

It means no more battler for this 'or' that, no more letdowns by 'buts'.

'And' is the coexistence of realities. It is the biggest relief.

I'm not proud of my body. I'm proud of my constant commitment to show up and do the hard work even when I didn't want to. If you have told me I would be doing these exercises 3 months ago I would have told you that would be impossible. But constantly showing up and taking one step in front of the other make us stronger. We become stronger by being constant and committed, not only physically but also mentally. I wish a lot more people would benefit from doing exercise as a medicine, movement is medicine, its not just the look it is the mental stimulation and the stamina that is important. Strong body = strong mind.

I put in a post the other day ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
It’s quite apparent some people don’t really understand what I meant with it, so here it is. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Being strong is rarely to do with muscle mass or how low your body fat percentage is, it’s largely subjective. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Being strong is a pursuit of growing your level of current strength, but not just in kg lifted but within your identity and traits of who you are too.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
At 21 I couldn’t deadlift, I lacked confidence in school, was petrified taking my first ever PT session and I’ve become stronger in every area of my life since. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
When people aspire to be stronger in the gym it has carry overs into every day life which empowers people in ways some idiots just don’t understand.⁣ It was huge for me to develop, that’s why I advocate it.⁣
⁣⁣
It’s every person’s prerogative to not lift and to not fuel their body for growth but with the tens of thousands of coaching hours I’ve seen people evolve, literally. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
It may start for someone as standing up with a weight, then standing up for what they believe in and even walking away from what they don’t.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
So if you don’t like my term I think that says a lot for your current attitude, but like I said, that’s cool. 🤣👋🏼⁣⁣

Would you like to work on your breathing?
Come and see me for a hatha flow yoga class every Friday at 6.15pm at
Full yogic breath

I've been enjoying teaching this breathing technic during my class as I feel it helps the body and the mind to start the practice. It helps to create a space for yourself after the madness of work or a high intensity training.

Also it is a great tool to share with people.
Pranayama (breathing exercise) is important and this is not only applicable during our yoga practice, it will help us improve emotional and physical tension when experiencing different kind of stress. "The quality of our breathing = the quality of our state of mind"

Breathing relieves stress, refresh the mind and activates the parasympathetic nervous system.

Belief system.

This has been coming up to my mind a lot lately. I think every now and then it is important to have a look into our belief system and explore where it comes from.

I think, I often operate from a belief that I don't deserve what I want, or it is too good to be true, so then I sabotage. Something that helps me get out of that way of operating is understanding with what kind of thoughts I feed my mind, what makes me feel trapped, I try to remember to make an effort to observe my thoughts and patterns and I try to find a way to look at things differently.

To be able to leave behind our resistance to change we must leave behind anything that has prevailed stagnated. We need to leave behind things that cloud our world, and most importantly, we need to stop blaming ourselves for the things that went wrong.

Of course, this is easier said than done...

Moving on.
When we sit with what it is, we can move on.

If we get stuck on what we desire it would be different, what should or could be, or what we wish it would be, it is self-tormenting.

When we accept our current situation, as difficult as it is, then we can finally make decisions, we can move forward.

Living in the delusion of the possible outcomes or the potential takes away from us living in the now, we can feel stuck, we feel pain and attachment.

Things might change but they are what they and accepting that, it is the biggest act of freedom, the biggest act of self love.

So let go... 🧘‍♂️ 🙏💙
