There are just 23 bottles of the 17-Year-Old Legend in New Zealand, available in only three venues across the country. Join us to learn about the production process that makes rum so special, the tropical ageing process and the icons who bring rum to life. A bit about what makes Appleton Estate’s 17-year-old rum blend so special: the J. Wray & Nephew 17-Year-Old is a cocktail legend that hasn’t been produced since 1981, with the historic rum best known for its starring role in the original Mai Tai. The Appleton Estate 17-Year-Old Legend was created using archival manuscripts from the 1940s and took Master Blender Dr. Joy Spence (the first female master distiller in the world) almost a decade to create.
