📣The Christchurch Hospital Emergency Department (ED) is currently experiencing very high demand. This means that if your condition is not urgent, you may experience a long wait.

Christchurch has three urgent care clinics where you can seek care in person:
✅ Moorhouse Medical Urgent Care (operating on reduced hours)
✅ The 24-Hour Surgery
✅ Riccarton Clinic (8am – 8pm)

If it is not an emergency and you are unable to see your usual GP, you might like to try a virtual consultation with a clinician. You can find a list of some online providers here: https://bit.ly/3XzuAT1

Free 24/7 free health advice is also available from:
✅ Healthline 0800 611 116
✅ PlunketLine 0800 933 922 (if you have unwell infants or children)
✅ For mental wellbeing support, call or text 1737

⚠️Don't forget, if you need emergency assistance, call 111.

Future Sumner brings together the agencies and community groups that shape our community. Come along to talk to NZ Police, Community Board, Christchurch City Council and a wide range of local community groups. Ask questions, give feedback and get involved! The event is expo style where you can choose who to speak with and learn about areas that are new to you. SCRA AGM will run from 8pm and all are welcome to stay to hear about what we have been doing to keep the good in the hood over 2022.
If you are a group that would like to be represented at Future Sumner you can email [email protected]

Most people can manage self-isolation with support from whānau and friends, but there is help available if you need it for urgent essential costs like food, medicine and bills.

If you can’t work from home while you’re isolating, your employer may be able to apply for the Leave Support Scheme to help pay you, even if you’re a part-time or casual employee. You can also apply if you’re self-employed.

Find out more at Covid19.govt.nz or call 0800 512 337.

GOOD NEWS for anyone that has to isolate due to having Covid, or being a household contact of someone with Covid.

The length of time you will need to be in isolation is going to be cut from 10 days to 7 days from midnight on Friday.

If you have had Covid you are not required to get a negative test on the final day of your isolation period. (This test would probably return a positive result anyway even though you are not likely to be infectious).
If you have been a household contact you do need to get a negative test result on the final day of isolation before you can leave isolation.

In either case – you must stay in isolation if you have Covid symptoms.

As always the place for information about isolation is at www.covid19.govt.nz

If you are self-isolating you can still get out in the community and exercise. This is written on the COVID 19 government website…

Exercise
When you are self-isolating, you can exercise outside your home without wearing a face mask. You can exercise outdoors in your neighbourhood — but not at any shared exercise facility, such as a swimming pool.
