I thought I would answer some of our most frequently asked floss questions in a series of posts…

First up, it has to be - how does that machine even work?

So let’s get a little technical for a minute: when you peer inside the dome you will see a metal cone with a largish hole in the middle. When it’s time to make floss, we pour our coloured and flavoured sugar into the heating element, which is spinning rapidly. The sugar melts instantly to a hot liquid, with centrifugal force the head flings the sugar back out. Then it’s our job to catch and spin the sweet fibres into a big fluffy cloud ready to serve. That’s it! 💭⚙️🍉

It looks like magic, and I’ve often heard people say how satisfying it is to see the floss grow the way it does. I totally agree!!

We’re back from a glorious break away at Lake Ruataniwha surrounded by family who we haven’t seen in years. I learnt how to ride a JetSki and visited Aoraki for the first time ever!! ​​​​​​​​

Excited for this year, have been making a few upgrades to the food trailer - who knew a new jockey wheel could be so exciting. 😅 I will be at the South Island BMX champs this weekend, looking forward to a 1st Birthday party and a Wedding this month. 💕🪩✨
