So happy to announce we will have a repair shop at this month's market.
Supergrans are going to run a sewing repair shop.
Your chance to get any mending you need done.
And
We have the lovely Jacqui offering to run a repair shop to do with knitting and crochet.
So if you have some things that need attention or have questions.
please come along and be part of this.
We are hoping to have a Repair Cafe at the next market. The way a Repair Cafe works, is we have people who are skilled in repairing things come along and not only fix stuff but also teach the person who has something to fix what they are doing. Once the job is done the repairer is given a koha by the person who got the help. If you are reading this and have a skill you could share please get in touch.
Vegetable Growers Club is also running a stall at the Market selling produce and plaint. With all the money, they rise to going a Dunedin Charity. This is why we started this Gasworks Growers & Craft Market so whether you want to sell fresh produce for charity or not, come join us. If you are a veg grower looking for a club of amazing knowable people check out Dunedin Vegetable Growers Club.

We are growing and without you, this would not be possible so please keep sharing, liking, and following. If you want a stall then better get on to it, as the bookings are coming in thick and fast. We want this market to be lively and friendly, so if you or someone you know has a musical talent and would like to bask please get in touch

WHAT IT IS:
The Gasworks Growers and Craft Market is a Not For Profit Organisation providing a once a month opportunity for individuals and community groups to come together to share and sell crafts, recycled goods and all types of garden produce (seeds, plants, vegies, flowers).
OUR AIMS:
• To share skills and knowledge e.g how to grow things, how to mend or knit or build etc
• To develop a sense of community
• To build economic resilience through recycling, sustainability and minimum waste
• To encourage people to grow vegies at home or in community gardens
• To encourage groups to promote what they are doing in the community
WHY NOW?
We feel the time is ripe for a market like this. The high cost of living, climate change, and the loss of market gardens in the South Island means that we now rely on fresh produce transported from the North Island. Any profit made from the market will be returned to the market itself enabling it to flourish and grow, buy its own tables, pay for advertising, and work on new ideas.
WE NEED YOU TO PARTICIPATE!
None of this can happen without community participation so we want you to get growing and creating and come and join us on the 7th October and thereafter the first Saturday of each month. Come and share your ideas and sell your achievements.
WE’RE WORKING ON A POP-UP REPAIR CAFE
As part of our first aim we are working on having a pop-up Repair Café where skilled people will repair a range of items and share their knowledge: equipment, instruments, lamps, clothing etc. Skilled people will repair items and teach those who brought them along to enable them to eventually do it themselves. People will give a koha to say thank you and any profit from the wider market will be used to finance necessary materials for making repairs.
Are you a home grower, creator, or crafter?
This is the market for you!
You can rent table space at our upcoming market for $7 (only $5 if you supply your own table) or for $10 for community groups. We’d love to see you there, first Market, 7th October, 10am-4pm.
Community Groups! We want you! Come and set up a table at our Gasworks Growers and Craft Market for only $10. Sell produce, crafts, or second-hand goods and promote your work within the local community.
First Market 7th October, 10am-4pm.
