Just wanted to give you all an update regarding the NZIHF QT development camp.

We can confirm the following.

The aim is to give all coaches the opportunity to be part of the coach education process applicable to New Zealand Ice Hockey.

We can confirm that Bob Mancini will also be attending the camp which is great news, Bob was going to attend the Auckland camp in October and was unable to attend, having Bob's involvement at Queenstown camp is great news.
Bob was one of the key architects of the current USA Hockey's ADM program (athlete development model).

Nick Blom, our un12 and Adult LTP coach was nominated for the Active Southland Services to Sport Award at the Gore Community Awards this evening.
Nick has been a part of Gore Grizzlies since he started as a Cub, and now coaches across our age groups. He travels 30 minutes (each way) to practices and games, travels to tournaments and commits alot of his time behind the scenes to helping our club grow.
We are grateful for your energy, skills and knowledge that you bring to our club Nick, your nomination is well deserved.

The camp will feature coaches from USA Hockey, as well as New Zealand's top player and goalie coaches, with up to 10 on and off ice training sessions.

The first under 12 tournament in Queenstown was great fun over the weekend. 10 games and a full day in skates is huge, but our Grizzlies did it with class.
Our junior hockey is the future of our club and I think those smiles say it all!
A huge thanks to our coach Nick, manager Erin and the parents who made the day run smoothly, and to Queenstown for organising a great event.

Our adult Learn To Play term 2 starts tonight! We have a group of our last terms LTP who have started playing with our senior players on a Tuesday night so it's really exciting to have another group coming through

The 2022 Under 12 and Under 9 tournament will take place in Christchurch, at Alpine Ice Arena on the weekend of 14-16 October!

The tournament is a highlight on the ice hockey calendar for many, and coincides with Canterbury Ice Hockey Association's 60th year anniversary.

We can't wait to share more information with you all soon - stay tuned for more details!
