Urgent update !
Waikato policy change, please read
NO VISITORS
Restricted visitor policy for all Waikato DHB hospitals
To help protect patients, whฤnau and staff, no visitors will be allowed at any Waikato DHB facilities, effective from 2pm Monday 20 September until further notice.
The primary purpose of our no visitor policy at this time is to reduce risk of infection in our hospitals and to keep everyone safe.
As our Public Health unit conducts further investigation into the COVID-19 cases identified in the Kaiaua area the DHB is acting with an abundance of caution. We expect to have more information soon and will review our visitor policy accordingly.
At this time, only support people or caregivers are allowed:
โข One support person for Emergency Department
โข One caregiver for paediatric areas
โข One support person for birthing facilities.
All support people/caregivers need to report to Waikato DHB staff on arrival and must:
โข use the NZ COVID Tracer app and scan codes displayed, or record details to ensure contact tracing can be carried out, if required
โข wear a face mask or covering
โข observe strict hand hygiene and physical distancing
โข follow the instructions of staff at all times
โข NOT have any COVID-19 symptoms or be otherwise unwell.
We recognise how important the support of whฤnau is for our patients.
Some exceptions to our current no visitor policy may be possible on essential or compassionate grounds, and must be approved by the charge nurse manager, charge midwife manager or, out of hours, the duty nurse manager.
This excludes children under 16 who cannot visit at this time.
We encourage patients and whฤnau to use technology where available to maintain contact in these difficult times.
Thank you for understanding and respecting our safety requirements.
Birthing women deserve better! Please consider signing ๐
Wow! In just 10 hours over 10,000 of you have signed our open letter asking for a law change, so all pain and suffering caused by traumatic births and birth injuries can be covered by ACC. Tag a parent who would support this law change โฌ

๐คฐRiver Ridge level 2 update
Waterford level 2 update
Alert Level Two Update ๐
As you know, the Waikato region is moving to Alert Level Two this
evening (Tuesday) evening at 11.59pm. Thankfully, this means that there are a few changes coming into play from the current guidelines.
From 11.59pm on Tuesday, you can now have two support people present for labour and birth, only one of which can stay with the woman during her postnatal stay. We are now also welcoming two visitors per family at one time including children for short visit (immediate family only) - you will be welcomed with open arms ๐ We are also welcoming transfers from Waikato Hospital for your post natal stay.
We have been hard at work here at Waterford making our environment as safe, welcoming and inviting as possible. However, as per MOH mandatory mask wearing for staff, LMCโs and consumers when in public areas and during contact.
When you come to stay with us, we welcome you with open arms - you will be joining a bubble that will cherish and nurture you during some of the most magical few days of your life โจ
I just wanted to pop on here at thank our team - you have been working around the clock to create a space that is safe, but welcoming. We see you and we appreciate all of you for working through a pandemic - thank you for leaving your home, to create a safe space for women and peฬpi ๐ถ๐ฝ
We are looking forward to seeing you soon and supporting you during this magical time.

Tracey, Sarah and your WBC whaanau ๐ซ
