The Hillcrest roundabout at 5pm has nothing on this and this was mild! Ho Chi Minh City traffic is organised chaos and although there appears to be a no rules policy, fortunately there are also an absence of accidents or road rage! True that you feel like you’re taking your life into your own hands when you cross the road but we have found that walking confidently (blindly) and with purpose right into the middle of it seems to go OK! Either that’s Vietnamese pedestrian culture at work or it’s the fact that we are seven big (slightly) blokes who would do quite some damage to the average moped 🏍 if hit by one!
So whilst Patrick was running things over the past 24 hrs in Hamilton, I was down in New Plymouth helping with the Hamilton Boys High 1st XV take on the home side on the famous gully field. Such an incredible place to play rugby particularly with the school joining in with the Haka from the embankment! They lay down such a challenge but we repelled that with a 26-7 win. Having played here for HBHS as a young fella and now been involved with the team in a different role, I feel pretty privileged.
