Zing a space to return to that has yoga, core classes, meditation, mindfulness and soulful discussions over the tea cups. Begun in 2006 in a cupboard sized shop it is now a beautiful light filled upstairs space that is big on space and still manages to feel like a lounge full of friends. Whether it's to curl up on cushions in the corner, or take it deep in a yoga class, explore your body, your mind or your spiritual path; there is a space for everyone in Zing.

Well it’s been full on since I last checked in with everyone. After a year of travelling the globe, we decided it was the perfect time…
Introducing you all to Forrest. He is an absolute joy and I’m truely loving being a mummy. Every day I’m grateful that he is a happy, healthy and cruisy baby.
Cashew is very protective of his new brother. He now spends his time sleeping by the bassinet instead of behind my yoga mat.
Missing you all and hope everyone is well. Are you still practicing your yoga? I hope so!
As you may have noticed, I rarely update this page now, but if do want to keep up with me, I’m much more active on Instagram

Round two of our online classes is taking off!
This winter you don’t even have to head out the door to practice your yoga. You can keep your heater on, light a candle and practice at home.
5 weeks of classes for $30. The first class is ready to be delivered as soon as you register.
I’ll send out the link weekly on a Friday. Ideal for the end of week switch off from work, or a Saturday morning settling into the weekend vibe.
I’ll leave each class up for the whole course to give you plenty of time.
Send me a message if you are interested and I’ll bounce you back the bank details. Those who have already registered, the new class is in your mail box!

Cashew and I have been overwhelmed with your support for our online classes. It means so much, thank you.
Our latest class is live and ready for you to enjoy. A little someone decides to move from sleeping in the back to having his time front and, slightly off, centre.
For those of you who haven’t signed up yet- It’s not too late to start your 5 week block for $30. Send me a message and you’ll get the first two classes straight away. You can practice whenever you want and you have the clip for a few weeks to use as often as you like.

Our new class is uploaded, it’s a goodie!
Glute strengthening through warrior two and tabletop bridges.
Moving forwards recorded classes will be $6 each if you buy the 5 week block for $30.
They are $10 as a casual if you just want one every so often.

Our second Zing Online class has just been delivered!
If you haven’t received it and you would like it - comment or message me and I’ll send it through to you.
The session is mostly standing poses so this class is great if you don’t like kneeling work. I’ve included vrksasana (Tree pose) which is great for foot strength and focus.
We’ve also got Malasana (squats) which help to open your hips and stretch out your lower back. There may also be some halves in there to get you stronger!
Lastly, a standing shoulder bind for neck and upper back release.

As you know the last week in the studio was a rollercoaster, so if you said to include you, could you please comment/message me to remind me. I would hate to miss anyone out.
I’ll keep the class up for two weeks to give everyone plenty of time. Every week I’ll pop up a new one. Maybe even two but I’ll see how it goes before I promise. Once I’m more settled we’ll look at doing a timetable so we can have some live recordings with those who can make it. I miss your faces! Those who can’t make the lives- you’ll still get the recording to play later.
Feel free to add in any extensions you like… you can also pause it whenever you like and go into savasana. Perk of being online!

Our last week is upon us crew.
It would be beautiful to have you join us as we celebrate Zing, yoga and practicing together as a community at 114 King Street.
Expect laughter, good music, deep stretching, a warrior pose and a blissful savasana.
Everyone is welcome to switch into any classes and use your cards up wherever you like.
Saturday, 18th of March, 9.15am is our last class. It’ll finish about 10.30am and the loose plan is morning tea afterwards at Coffee on Ascot.
I want everyone to leave the space feeling full of love and positive vibes for the future.

My dear and beloved crew,
Cashew and I have truely adored welcoming you into Zing, our second home, for the past 8 years.
The studio has been an absolute dream come true.
As much as we love our Zing community, the time has come for us to follow other dreams.
I have decided with a clear, peaceful mind, and a loving heart, to close the physical doors of Zing.
I will be taking classes online while we hit the road and travel. Let’s mix up our already beautiful studio back drop and add in some scenes from Italy, Japan, Australia and around New Zealand.
I’ve truely loved every minute of teaching yoga from our magical space however, it is time for a change and adventures are calling.
Our last day at the studio is Saturday, the 18th of March. Please feel free to come to as many classes as you like and enjoy using your cards up before we change to online.
My apologies if this news catches you on the hop. I’ve tried to tell as many of you as I could personally.

My pregnant yogis,
We only have three spaces left if anyone would like to join our pregnancy yoga course.
The class is a blend of a little strength work, stretching out our bodies and practicing our pranayama (breath work).
We will teach you about your pelvic floor muscles and help you learn ways to calm and settle yourself. We’ll take time for relaxing and creating peace in the body and in the womb.
Our start date is Saturday, the 11th of February at 8.15am for a 50 minute class.
The cost is $90 for the six weeks. Beginner friendly. Booking is essential.

You don’t need to be flexible to start yoga!
The next round of beginners yoga and beginner meditation with mindfulness courses are starting Wednesday, the 25th of January.
Please note these are our only beginners courses for the year.
Beginners Yoga 6.30pm:
This beginner course is for everyone. We teach you the most practiced poses in yoga classes. Breaking them down to the basics so you can do the poses correctly for you and your capability. We explain the muscles you are using and the benefits of the poses to help you understand your body. By the end you will have strong foundations for a lifetime of safe practice. You’ll also know some go to poses for quick relief of shoulder tension, lower back discomfort or hip tightness.
Beginners Meditation and Mindfulness 7.45pm:
Each week we teach a different form of meditation so you can find the style that is the most calming for you. We also discuss a new focus for mindfulness and a breathing technique every session.
$90 for one course.
$160 for both.
The courses run for 8 weeks.

Woo hoo, and just like that the studio has finished for 2022!
Thank you to everyone who continued their practice with us this year, our newbies, the visitors and the crew who support us from afar. My heart is full of love and I am forever grateful to everyone for their support.
I am proud that our studio is a space where people can come and be themselves. We have a laugh, have a grumble and maybe even a tear in our classes. We request a mooch, a strong pose or a longer savasana so we can work through whatever life has thrown us - together. I can only do so much in creating this space, the rest comes down to you and you do it so well crew. Thank you for being welcoming, kind and understanding to others. This year has been another tricky one for all but it’s a little bit easier when we have a community.
As a personal achievement, it was an absolute pleasure to be asked to feature in the Palmy Proud magazine. Cashew is in the print! Thank you to Carly, for thinking of us and writing such an awesome article.
Alexandra Tylee is holding space on Sunday, January the 8th, if anyone would like a yoga session over the break. More info can be found on the next post down.
