🇬🇧LIVE FROM LONDON 🇬🇧
Hi team, here. Really gutted to be missing out on both teams this afternoon, OBHC had had an amazing season as a club and as we close our second year out I just wanted to express my message of gratitude to this amazing club.
Thank you to Craig, Bev, Toni, Krish, Kate for their support on the field in running us all this year; your expertise, organisation, love and passion does not go amiss and we are so lucky to have you all on board our sides.
To the committee- behind the scenes you guys have worked tirelessly to organise fundraisers, make decisions, secure precious funding and help safeguard the future of this club. Thank you.
And to the players- thank you all for showing up every weekend and making our club proud. The amount of times I’ve heard other teams, umpires and spectators say “that’s a nice team” has made me thankful for our clubs values and what we stand for as a team. You all play your hearts out, showing respect and love for our opponents, officials, spectators and community and I couldn’t ask for more. So let’s get out there this weekend and finish the job.
Love, Keeley 💙❤️💛

Taylah Carter was the Blues POD this week igniting the team into action with a superb goal from a penalty corner. Taylah’s consistently high work rate and extra long reach are such valuable assets to the team!
❤️Senior Red
Chelsea Olesen was in form for the reds this week. She was POD for her go-get em attitude on the field as well as consistently giving it 100% every week. Well done Chelsea!

Our POD this week is Mila Watherston. This week she went and scored a beautiful goal that helped with our winning result. Well done Mila ❤️
Another Watherston lady for our blues, congrats to Eva this weeks POD! Eva is one of our young guns who has stepped up massively, with the ability to slot into multiple positions including centre half where she dominates by marking tough and running so hard for her teammates. Awesome work Eva 💙
Spend a sunny Saturday supporting the OBHC women in their last pool-play games this weekend! Watch the Reds start us off at 12.30pm on Tahatai before heading over to Moana to watch the Blues at 3.30pm. Lessssgoooo! 💪💙💛❤️
✨players of the day ✨
Huge shout out to the Reds player of the day- this week is Alison Wills-Olsen. Every week Ali shows her skill, speed and leadership on the field. She also has the awesome ability to be able to play one-handed which she also uses to consistently scoop the ball from the opposition. We love having Ali in our OBHC whānau ❤️
For the Blues we have our young super star forward Monique Hart. Mon is a firecracker with a wicked reverse shot and an infectious, positive vibe that she brings to every training and game. Mon created some beautiful leads in the match against the Wanderers and gassed her legs out up the front creating a heap of goal scoring ops in the 8-1 win. Mon brings so much fun and light to the team, we are so lucky to have her on field and off-field💙
CONGRATULATIONS to all our winning ticket numbers 🥳
The winners have now all been contacted and have chosen their prizes.
The club would like to extend a MASSIVE thank you to all those who supported the club and donated prizes and sold tickets and bought tickets. What an awesome team effort!
As a club, Omanu Beach want to provide a fun and inclusive environment for girls and women to be involved in hockey. We want to foster talent and work with THA to provide pathways for our players to progress and achieve their hockey dreams (whatever they may be!). Thanks to all the support you all have shown, we are able to continue this!
✨ the magic behind the scenes✨
It’s time you meet some of our incredible OBHC coaching and management crew! Proudly introducing the team behind our OBHC Senior Reds- say kia ora to Bevan Hari, Craig Carter (coaches) and Toni Bremner (manager).
Craig is a rugby and cricket man through and through however started coaching hockey to support his three daughters through primary, intermediate and college. Craig was involved in a coaching capacity with the Tauranga U16 Reps last year and now bringing his experience and guidance into the senior womens team.
Bevan is well know to Tauranga Hockey, often in his younger years playing rep and club hockey in Rotorua against Tauranga sides. His move north to Auckland was the catalyst to further travel and live in Australia & Europe, representing the New Zealand national team (200+ caps) at Olympic, Commonwealth and World Cup events. It’s great to have both Bev and Craig onboard, their approach and style is reinforcing the competitive and development-based environment our Club is seeking to achieve on and off the field.
Toni, mum of superstar goal-keeper Tayla Holton has been outstanding in the managers role, taking part in group trainings, always herding the field collecting the stray balls, supporting the girls through administration processes and being number one supporter in the dugouts. We love you all!

Here are this weeks’ OBHC Players of the Day.
In a match full of standout performances these two ladies stood out for their respective teams.
Senior Red ❤️
Jess Howard is a consistent and reliable defender who expertly outlet the ball under huge pressure from an offensive press. Her calmness under pressure and leadership from the back made her the standout players for the reds this weekend!
Premier Blue 💙
After a scoreless first half Keeley Grantham was the injection of energy the Blues needed to get on the scoresheet. Keeley is always in the perfect spot on the field . Her pace and agility brought her team back to life just when they needed it.
The club is so grateful to have such awesome players out in the field giving 💯 every week!
❤️🤍💙 🏆🏅
✨CLUB SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT ✨
OBHC would like to acknowledge Holland Beckett for their incredible support of the club, continuing from 2023 into 2024. Our training shirts are worn with pride to represent the values of both the club and the company. As part of the clubs ongoing success, we try to offer opportunities for club members to get involved and support in the community space through providing an environment where everyone is included and can give exercise a go. As part of this, last week we were lucky to have Zeö from InnerFight Endurance New Zealand take an open agility class for us alongside Ōtūmoetai Intermediate Boys A team, providing a fun and safe space for interactive and fun fitness for all!
Thanks Holland Beckett for your support for our season 💪💛
What a match! The energy between both teams was fierce out in the sunshine yesterday, nothing like a bit of inter-club competition 💪 congratulations to both teams for putting on an awesome performance for the spectators who commented on the extremely exciting and fast paced game 🔥 bring on another week!

Check out the gorgeous POD for the Senior Reds this week. Manager Toni says- Our POD this week is Riley Ramshaw. This is for her ability to get the ball and consistently run away with it down the turf. Well done Riley 🙂 who THEN came and played an absolute ripper for the OBHC prem blue, where she tore up the sidelines, creating plenty of space and job scoring opportunities! Girls got pace!!!
Hats off to OBHC Premier Blue POD this week, our captain and leader of the midfield engine room Keeley Grantham.
Keeley leads by example and constantly gives 💯 for her teammates. Her work rate is second to none and is demonstrated by the amount of time on the ball she has and her role in ball distribution and creation of space for our forwards.
Her speed and agility is also welcomed back in defence where she can be relied on to help protect our goal.
Keeley, we appreciate your tenacity, fitness, skill and leadership!!
Remember if you’re cold at training bring the jacket out and wear as an inspiration for others (and a reminder of your greatness)!!
🏆🏅
🤩 PLAYERS OF THE DAY🤩
After grilling snags at our team BBQ for the morning on Saturday, she also comes away with the OBHC Senior Red POD. Manager Toni says Laura had a fantastic game as well as her constant jab tackling against the other team. Well done Laura ❤️
And it seemed only fitting that our latest departing player Jessie took home the POD for OBHC Prem Blue. Jess held the midfield like a champion on Saturday and we will miss her solid defence and incredible distribution across the field. Jess is off to the Paris Olympics with the Black Ferns Sevens and we couldn’t be more excited for her, all the best for you and the team Jess! 💙
