I made my own chocolate for on top - accidentally quadrupled it with the first ingredient so just had to go with it and hope for the best🤣 used the leftover to top up our chocolate spread - kids love it on their bread and less sugar then Nutella/store brought chocolate spread 🙌

Late night cooking! Getting some birthday party food prepped for a double birthday party tomorrow 😍 I am so thankful for my “wondergadget” that will help me churn these yummy things out, and wash up pronto inbetween my hummus and my icing, and everything else I make! And for my little GF friends coming, really thankful for the easy help of cookidoo (going to be making the GF pizza base which is on cookidoo (cauliflower base) and I have confidence its going to work even though I have not ever made it before 😆 makes catering for those allergies and food needs absolutely a delight ❤️ I will literally be going non-stop - but its no chore, thanks Thermie!! (and btw, saving me a fortune, I got caught out this week and bought some hummus 😮 that is a rip off!! Its so so so much cheaper to make this easy favourite, and its going to take me less than a minute 👍) Looking forward to heaps of little pizzas with the party kids tomorrow… and all the cheese grated ahead, chicken shredded, sometimes I even chop up the salami in the thermomix, undecided on that one this time, as it does not “look” like salami when chopped up, and that might be worth the extra effort of doing by hand tomorrow… I think the children will like the patterns they can make from the shapes instead… time will tell what I go for 😆

And of course, cakes are made (my children love to help make the cakes) and will be decorated with excessive amounts of sugar (can share the healthier kumara icing recipe I have used before, if you like! This year is going to be full sugar… lets hope it ends well…) I recently made a batch of fondant from scratch (actually, I lie. My 11yo made it herself! Too easy!) and that would be awesome for these cakes (its even nicer than bought stuff) but the vote had been for buttercream. We will turn the excess strawberry couli/syrup into a fizzy drink (with mineral water) and also make the traditional lemonade (in 2 seconds!)👍

The excitement level of having a “real party” at our place is high 🥳❤️

If you have never made the tomato ketchup and the cooked mayonnaise, I can highly recommend them both! Not only do I know exactly what’s in them, they’re so yum - and with their forces combined…😍😍
I will add I use olive oil, not grape seed oil in the Mayo! Any sauces, jams or relishes etc that you’ve tried and can recommend?😁

I made the chicken noodles soup tonight and it was delicious! I did chicken stock instead of the water and stock powder but both would work and it seems most noodles work too! I didn’t use GF ones but I think they’d be fine. It was a hit with my nieces roo wahoo so the recipe will be going on their list for cooking 🥰🙌

You do have to go through the registration to get onto it, it really is free even though it goes through the mix shop, but if you can register and log on to it they will usually send us the recording to finish watching later, if you have to miss the end etc. 😊(you can totally join and be on mute/no video, so working around what you need to do in the evening LOL)

Its a Basics class, so perfect for anyone who is new to Thermomixing, but tbh there are always good tips to be learnt, no matter how long you have been cooking with a thermomix!

Some of our waikato consultants are running a great class (real, in-person, you get to taste!) this week, Weds 17th at 6pm, places still available. “Autumn Savers“ - more fabulous ways to save money by cooking with your thermie 😊 It is a paid class ($20- usually its bring a friend for no cost, just checking up on that one). Made a scrumptious ‘no butter’ butter chicken tonight! I love how versatile this machine is! Even when following a recipe, you can still easily make it your own🥰 I added carrots and cauliflower at the start with the onion and it mulched it all up and no one was the wiser at the end. And not because they don’t eat veges, I just wanted to get more veges in to dinner and not have to make another dish😂
So I added veges, then doubled the sauce, did extra chicken (not double, about 300gr extra) because we love extra sauce on our rice, got the machine to the max, and it was still cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious 😋
When I do this, I keep an eye on it to help push down ingredients if I need to as I’m using a lot extra, and will turn the spin up a notch or 2 just to make sure it mixing and cooking nicely and evenly and leave it to do it’s thing once I’m happy with that. All done within half an hr and in between batches of stewed apple 😂

Friends, its an absolute oxymoron that I have (and love) a thermomix 😆 I can’t even drive a cellphone!! But its that amazing technological hand in the kitchen (and its eeeeeeeasy) that lets me do the “old fashioned” kind of cooking I LOVE, on the time budget I have (its small)… I have just seen a new collection on cookidoo that I think might have been written for me and my house-hold… its called Chaos Cooking 🤣

We have tried the Smash tacos (burgers meets soft tacos/burritos) and they were really simple, really good. Can’t wait to give some of the other “chaos” a whirl! Perfect antidote to show that using a very intelligent device in the kitchen does not mean mass-produced, sickeningly perfect, boring food, at all.
