📍 ESNZ Eventing Development Camp
Such a fun past week learning and training with V and Mac. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Brea’s - so many new things learnt and it was really cool to implement these at the ESNZ camp in Taupo. Bertie and Squeaks are definitely my favs 🐒🐭
Mac went on to perform amazingly at the camp 🌟 Despite only having jumped a handful of times the week prior, she went round super like the wee legend she is 🖤 Massive thank you to , , and for the awesome lessons, and to for running the camp.
Onwards and upwards as we build up more fitness for their first run of the season 🙌🏻

Well I certainly didn’t envision that our week at Taupo 3DE would end in a cold, muddy puddle!! 🙈
V and I unfortunately took a bit of stumble between fences at a big puddle that he misread (thought he could jump the whole thing bless him!). He’s a bit bruised and battered but home safe and happy which is the most important thing. So thankful we are both ok.
I decided to withdraw Mac as I didn’t feel I was in the right headspace to tackle a tough 95 course soon afterwards…. I think she was a bit perturbed we took her all the way down to Taupo for one dressage test!
Although this week didn’t quite work out as hoped I honestly owe both V and Mac so much - they’ve performed so consistently and tried so hard all season for me.
Tomorrow’s another day!!

Really pleased with both horses today in the dressage. V did an accurate test with just a few tense moments to score 68.89, sitting 6th. I was also really happy with Mac who is sitting just inside the top 10.
Tough courses out there tomorrow but we will put our best foot forward! 🤞🏻👊🏻

…what a weekend!! Absolutely rapt with them both, but V in particular completely exceeded all expectations 📈🦄
His dressage is continuing to improve and I was really, really happy with his test. Show jumping was rainy, muddy, and slippery with some tricky lines and freaky fillers. Despite this he jumped clear with just 4 faults incurred due to me circling him to regain balance/correct our line. It wasn't a pretty round and I knew it wouldn't be, but I was honestly just so stoked to have made it around with SJ being our nemesis in the past! 🙌🏻🙌🏻 He continued to impress on XC day going clear and inside the time over a decent track. Couldn't have asked for more ⭐️🧡
Mac was her usual legendary self. A bit of an average test but a beautiful, clear show jump round. She was super bold around XC, just getting a wee bit cocky towards the end! Super stoked with her though ⭐️🖤

Both horses are happy to be home and have pulled up well, so onwards and upwards till Taupo 3DE which will conclude what has so far been a wicked season 💪🏻

Currently working on getting him rounder and deeper in his contact to allow him to work through his back and swing in his trot.

MATAMATA HIGHLIGHTS 🤍🤍🤍
Another great weekend ticked off at the RANDLAB Matamata HT! It’s been a busy few weeks but I’m stoked with how the horses have been performing 🙌🏻 Both Mac and V finished in the top 10 for a 7th and 5th 🏅
🖤🐮 CITI LIMITS WTB (Mac) was consistent all weekend. An unfortunate rail in the SJ added 4 faults to our 68.5% dressage. It was an early start on Sunday being the trailblazers on course at 8am, but nonetheless she blitzed around to go clear and undertime ⏰ We finished up 7th 🏅
🧡🐒 CALMBEFORETHESTORM (V) also had a great weekend. An accurate, relaxed dressage put us in 2nd with a 69% - super stoked! An unfortunate stop at a liverpool in what was otherwise an awesome SJ round added 4 faults to our score. But he made up for it with a confident and rideable XC to finish up 5th! Patience, patience, patience with this guy but we are slowly getting there…
It was also a nice surprise to win the sportsmanship award which was generously sponsored by Saddlery Warehouse 🫶🏻🫶🏻
Quiet few weekends ahead for us before we gear up again for Barge HT later in April 💪🏻

Proud of the ponies this weekend - first HT back after a wee break and so good to be back at it!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Citi Limits WTB was Miss Reliable as per usual, coming home double clear to finish on her dressage score of 71%, placing us 7th overall in the U18 95 class. Love riding this girl so much🏅🖤
Everyone’s favourite ging, Calmbeforethestorm, also came home double clear to finish on his dressage score of 62% and end up 6th in the 80B class🏅🧡 He redeemed his very tense dressage test with a superb SJ round and a clear XC (minus some brakes!! 💨).
Massive thank you to for hosting such a well-run event as usual. Even better knowing the funds will be well used for those down in the Hawke’s Bay!! ❤️🩹 Such an amazing effort to run this show as a fundraiser.

A maaaaasive photo dump of some '22 highlights 🫶🏻
Always cool to look back over the year and see how far we've come. 2022 has provided its fair share of ups and downs but as always I am so grateful to have had a jam packed year doing what I love.
Some awesome moments include seeing the gorgeous Absy Wabs loving life down South with her awesome new rider Mimi (), Level 2 Pony reserve champion on Abbey earlier in the year at the AMDG Premier League, 6th in my first 95 on Mac, double clear at my first Puhinui 3DE on Mac, continuing (or rather attempting) to tame the 🌶️ in V (😈😈), beach rides with Mum, and many others that will take too long to mention!
Let's see what 2023 has in store for us... 🫣
