Service Technician | Food Machinery Services | Petone, Lower Hutt, Wellington NZ | $65k-$75k (but let's talk) + Vehicle

As a growing Wellington based business specialising in servicing and repairs to a wide range food processing machinery, we are looking for a Service Technician to join our team.

Food Machinery Services is a new business (recently formed out of Petone Engineering) and we are dedicated to excellent customer service in maintenance, servicing and repairs of butchery, bakery, bar, kitchen, and factory equipment. We are looking for the right team member who can bring their skills, experience and the right attitude to a great team of people who share a central focus of exceptional customer service – and who are great at what they do.

The Service Technician role would suit a trade qualified electrician or EST licence holder with mechanical knowledge or mechanical engineer/fitter ideally with an EST electrical qualification.
Preferably with experience in troubleshooting and repairs of commercial kitchen and food processing equipment.

The right person will need to have clear, professional written and spoken manner to liaise and organise work with customers and teammates. The successful candidate(s) will operate from the provided service van and work out of our Petone-based workshop. Most of our work is in-situ and at customer premises and therefore provides great variety and therefore, successful applicants will need a current NZ Drivers license.

Development opportunities include experience on a wide range of equipment, projects, and sites with a good team with much training and experienced to be passed on. Installing new machines as well as servicing/maintaining and repairing existing specialist machinery, there is real job satisfaction with this role and pride working within FMS.

A successful candidate will need to have:
· An excellent attitude and manner in serving and relating to customers
· Technical skills to efficiently service and repair the equipment properly
· Appropriately related trade qualification and experience
· Experience with food equipment repair
· Ability to trouble shoot equipment issues methodically
· Produce timely and detailed job and service reports
· Operate equipment and machinery in a safe manner
· Keen interest to learn new equipment and to share knowledge
· Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations
· Be self-motivated, and solve problems
· Be eligible to work in New Zealand and have a full current NZ drivers licence
