I'm signing out for 2023 - my chooice store is now closed and Knitty Kat is on holiday until 15th January when I will reopen again 🤩

Thought it was about time I shared a knitting update. I have been working on a gingersnap jersey the past few months - its a Truly Myrtle pattern and I have used Truly Myrtle DK yarn in the gorgeous colourway storyteller. Have just finished the body and now onto the sleeves :-) It's starting to get too hot to have this sitting in my lap while I knit now, so I am thinking I might have to put it aside until its a bit cooler and start a summer project - maybe a 4 ply one skein shawl such as Truly Myrtles Bejewelled? I have the yarn and beads sitting there in my stash already 😆 It would be my first ever shawl. I also have to finish off my wee Christmas tree decoration sweater which shouldn't take long. I am doing the opposite colourway to the one I made last year :-)

(I only put my jersey down on the bed for about one minute before one of our cats, Missy, plonked herself down on it 😂 she was not happy when I kicked her off so I might have to knit her her own blanket lol)

Whoops - time got away from me and I got busy (who isn't busy this time of year right!?!) and I forgot to post about my new Christmas earrings and stitch markers. Anyway, here they are 🥰 They have been popular at the Christmas markets I have attended. I have one each of the stocking and mitten earrings in stock currently, and also have 3 sets of the stitch markers in stock. If anyone is wanting any of these I will upgrade the postage to courier for free and get them sent off right away :-) NZ post say the Christmas cut off for courier is Wed 20 Dec :-)

All set up at theHub Christmas Market 🥰 brave the weather and come see all the amazing stalls 😍

Had an amazing time at the Christmas market at The Pines yesterday, so much fun 😍 my first time doing a market there and loved the location. Was beautifully decorated for Christmas, with Christmas music in the background - very festive! And despite the weather we had a good turn out :-) Thank you to Lesh of Lesh Creates for the picture 🥰 I just love her art! The sweatshirt I am wearing has her Christmas wreath art print on it and I also purchased a lovely art print of the wharf at Karaka Bay from her. Highly recommend checking her out if you are looking for last minute Christmas gifts :-) Those of you with eagle eyes might spot my new Christmas earrings on my stall - I just need to photograph them and get them listed, will try to do that today :-) (and love that the lovely stall holder next to me photo bombed the photo, ha ha 😆)

The sun will be shining all weekend, so why not head out to the beach on the South Coast, and while you're there, pop on up to the Christmas Market at The Pines!

There will be delicious food, tasty coffee and Christmas shopping to your hearts delight.

We will have a range of music from local ukulele group - Low Key Ukulele and if your lucky you might even catch some Irish dancing from the Gregan Irish Dance troop!

🧶Hi, I’m Katrina, and I’m wanting to introduce my wee crafty business, Knitty Kat, in case you are new to my page. I live in Wellington, New Zealand and am a mum to two teenagers and two cats! 🐱🐱

🧶 Knitty Kat 🐱 was born a year ago as a way to combine two crafts that I love – knitting and polymer clay (and yes I love cats too!). It's been a dream of mine to have my own crafty business for as long as I can remember, so a year ago I finally took the plunge!

🧶 When I’m not “knitting” with polymer clay you can find me knitting with yarn and I always have at least one project on the go on my needles.

🧶 My collection includes “knitted” earrings, stitch markers, buttons, badges/brooches, and key rings – all made out of premium light weight polymer clay.

🧶 A lot of time and love goes into each “knitted” piece as its meticulously handcrafted to look like its knitted (no moulds, rollers or stamps are used to get the knitted effect).

As promised here are my two brand new products 😃 I thought it was about time I had some "kiwiana" earrings so we have super cute "Knitty Kiwi" earrings (these have a hint of gold sparkle in them) and some pearlescent teal "fish hook" earrings (I love these, they look really gorgeous on) 🥰

And the good news is that these are included in my first birthday sale which is on until midnight tomorrow (Wed) night. This means these are just $18 a pair :-)
