๐Just finished reading the book 'Essentialism' by Greg Mckeown ๐
It's not the first time I have read it and I often share some of the insights gained from the book in my sessions working with perimenopausal woman who are often feeling guilt around how they are managing their health, relationships, work life balance or have lost how to take care of themselves and their needs.
If you don't know what your need are anymore (and if you said yes your are not along...... then even more reason to read this book
The book dives deep into the concept of focusing only on what's truly essential and eliminating everything else.
Here are the top 5 tips that really stood out for me, and how we, could implement them in our lives for peace of mind.
1๏ธ Prioritize: Understand what's really important in your life and focus only on that. This could be your family, career, health, or anything else.
2๏ธ Learn to say 'No': It's okay to say no to things that do not contribute to your essential goals. Don't feel guilty about it! ( I know easier said than done sometimes)
3๏ธ Eliminate the non-essentials: Be it physical clutter or unnecessary tasks, get rid of them to make room for what's truly important.
4๏ธ Create a routine: Having a routine can help to automate the non-essential decisions, freeing up time and energy for what truly matters.
5๏ธ Unplug: Spend some time each day to disconnect from technology and connect with yourself. This could be through meditation, reading, or just taking a walk.
Implementing these tips can go a long way in attaining peace of mind and living a more balanced life. But can also help us to start the journey of saying "no".

Did you know that there's a significant connection between perimenopause, histamine, and anxiety?
Did you know that histamine is also a neurotransmitter.
Its excitatory in nature and we do need this for balanced mental wellness However, during perimenopause histamine levels in your body can increase due to its relationship with oestrogen.
This rise in histamine can lead to/worsening symptoms such as anxiety and insomnia as well as gut issues, hives, itching.
Understanding this connection and how to manage this can be a game-changer in managing your mental well-being during perimenopause.
One clue that Histamine may be contrbung to your health challenges is an exacerbation of symptoms mid cycle (if you still have a regular cycle).
It's important to seek professional advice for personalised treatment options and thats where I can help you.
Hi ๐๐ฝ I'm Jodie Williams RN, I help perimenopausal women manage their mental and emotional health. ๐ง โค๏ธ
Stay informed, stay healthy!
It might be hard to believe but 10 years agoโฆ
I was an owner/operator of 3 massage therapy clinics while also having my own huge client load.
I was endlessly tired, stressed, time poor and living someone else's idea of what success looks likeโฆโฆ.
Reflecting on the past decade, it's fascinating to see how definitions of personal success has evolved.
Perceptions of success seems to be shifting towards a more holistic, personal definition.
It's no longer just about what you have, but about who you are, mental and physical health, meaningful relationships, personal growth, and the pursuit of quality relationships are now significant indicators of success.
Moreover, the concept of work-life balance has been replaced by work-life integration, where individuals strive to weave their personal and professional lives seamlessly.
What does personal success mean to you in today's context?
Do you align more with the traditional or the modern interpretation?
Or perhaps a blend of both? Let's discuss, share your thoughts!
You don't know what you don't know!

๐ฉธ Does the thought of heavy periods make you anxious? It might be a sign of perimenopause.
Here's the lowdown: blame it on the hormonal hustle. When progesterone takes a dip, estrogen can run a bit wild, causing your uterus lining to throw a party.
The result? Heavier periods that can be a real mood dampener.
Perimenopause isn't just a phase; it's a transformation. And there's no need for you to navigate this wild ride solo!
Because your peace of mind matters, right?
Let's break the stigma, spread some , and show that managing your mood through this journey is not just possible but totally doable. ๐
