Weβre asking a few simple questions about music being played on buses:
π§ Do you mind music being played by drivers for bus passengers to hear?
π§ If we have music on board, what genres/stations/playlists should be allowed?
π§ Should we have different guidelines for different times of the day and/or year?
Everyone who fills in the survey and leaves their email address goes into the draw to win one of five Bee Cards with $20 credit, or $20 credit loaded onto their Bee Card ππποΈ

MR BEAST SPOTTED ON PALMY BUS ππ€©
Weβre just kiddingβ¦ But weβre not kidding about how much you all are loving the new network, like this absolutely chokka 106 bus snapped last week! β¨
The numbers have just come in, and theyβre looking better than MrBeast holding a Bee Card:
β‘οΈNearly 100,000 passengers carried in May
β‘οΈApril patronage up 54% compared to the same month last year
β‘οΈWeekend patronage up 92%
β‘οΈAshhurst patronage up 62% overall (and 309% on weekends)
The 101 Airport-Massey is the most popular route, carrying more than 1000 people per day - well up on the old record-setting Palmy route which took about 600 per day π
And best of all, the new fully electric network has saved 267,169 litres of diesel being used and prevented 595 tonnes of CO2 from entering the atmosphere π

π’ β¨ MANAWATΕͺ STRIDERS MARATHON ROUTE CHANGE πββοΈββ‘οΈ
The Manawatu Striders Marathon is on this Sunday (12 May), with people set to take part in everything from race walking to the full marathon πββοΈπ¨π
Since people are racing near Massey University, the 101 line will run slightly differently:
π Buses will not go down Colombo Rd to the main Massey bus terminal. They'll instead stay on University Ave. Your best alternative stops are either near Massey Vets or opposite Egmont Court.
π Since there may be runners on the road, drivers may need to slow down at times to keep people safe.

π§ π PALMY & FEILDING BUS DELAYS | 101, 311, 102 and 106 lines
Roadworks on Railway Rd for the next two months are likely to cause delays to the following buses during peak hours as people in cars detour down other streets:
π 101 Airport-Massey
π 102 Maxwells Line - Roberts Line
π 106 James Line - Pioneer Highway
π 311 Feilding-Palmerston North via Airport
We are not putting any detours in place, but buses may be running a bit slower, especially on Ruahine St where the 101 and 311 go. Consider getting an earlier bus at peak times to ensure you can get to your destination on time.
π Download and use the Transit app to take advantage of the real-time departure information: https://transitapp.com/

π’β¨ LAST DAY OF COMMUNITY CONNECT SCHEME
A reminder that today (Tuesday 30 April) is the last day for discounted fares for some people.

π Get all the details about the fare changes in this post from earlier this month.
π We love hearing feedback from people about our services, and it doesn't get much cuter (or tastier) than this π°ππ
Kristina got in touch with us to tell us how much her twin boys Oscar and Charlie love the new EV buses in Palmy π₯°
"We started taking them last month when they were free and now it's our Friday funday activity - take the bus into town. So much so that I attempted a bus birthday cake for them! It's not an exact representation, but it's inspired by their fav the 101 that takes them to the airport to watch the planes."
Oscar and Charlie aren't the only fans of the 101. Travelling between Massey University and Palmerston North Airport, the 101 has quickly become one of our most popular routes since being introduced with the new Palmy network in March π
