The Winter Solstice invites us to embrace the darkness, offering a moment of intentional pause to find balance between light and dark, cold and warmth, endings and new beginnings.
Celebrated across cultures, this day holds deep ancestral significance. By honouring the shortest day and the longest night of the year, it ignites transformation, rebirth, and the journey towards light, strengthening our lives.

Say hello to Jade and Melodie.
Jade and Melodie are our garment extraordinaires based in vastly different places across the globe. Jade does incredible work for us here in NZ and Melodie is behind our brand development in India. We feel incredibly grateful to have their talent on our team.
As part of and by shining a light on Jade and Melodie's craftsmanship, we honour the artisans who often remain invisible in the fashion industry's supply chain.
11 yrs ago today the Rana Plaza, a garment factory in Bangladesh collapsed. Marking the fourth largest industrial disaster in history, and the deadliest disaster in modern garment history. 1134 people died with 2500 injured, most of those victims were young women. It was a devastating wake-up call, exposing the dark underbelly of fast-fashion, an industry built on exploitation and negligence.
Understanding the journey of our clothing empowers us to make ethical choices, supporting fair wages, safe working conditions, and sustainable practices. It's about fostering transparency, respect, and accountability throughout the entire production process.
Join us in embracing transparency and celebrating the incredible artisans like Jade and Melodie who literally make the clothes on our back.
Behind the scenes, we've been exploring working with India to make our beautiful clothes. Deanna's been other there for the last 4 months working through different ways to create our botanical colours away from the kitchen stove. We are so dedicated to keeping our colours chemical free and natural, and we can tell you that it has been a journey! It's actually quite tricky in a larger setting. However, it is ensuring that this part of the process upholds integrity that has kept her there all this time. We have so much gratitude for the dedication and patience it has taken from all of the team at HH Clothing 🙏. They truly get our mission and are committed to helping us produce toxic-free clothing. We can't wait to share more with you soon on this development! Oh and a Happy new year from India 🇮🇳 🪷 🪷🪷

Let's label clothes like food.
We're on a mission to bring transparency to your wardrobe, starting with labelling our clothes like food. For all our new stock, we will have an ingredients list on each item.
What do you think? Do you agree that all brands should disclose what ingredients are used to make your clothing?
What’s in our dyes? It’s simple. We use Botanical Plant Dye 🌱
Some brands might use things like synthetics, phthalates, wetting agents and other finishing chemicals that have no place in our products and cause harm to our environment and ourselves. dea, good for your skin, good for you. To find out more head to https://dealoves.co.nz/pages/our-colours

Consider making one of them to be kind to the earth and kind to your skin.
One way to do this is through your wardrobe choices 🤭
With dea, step into a world where comfort meets compassion – a place where your skin is protected from unseen harm and each creation leaves a gentle footprint on the earth.

As seen on , our marketing goddess, wearing Danu Flare riverside 🌿
Tish is more than just a part of our team; she's a mama, a passionate yogi, and a dedicated postpartum doula She's open about what keeps her balanced and grounded, especially during this busy season.
For her, it's all about daily gratitude. While she loves her meditation and yoga, simply pausing for a moment of gratitude each day is what really brings her peace. It's a practice that fits into her life, no matter what her day with her little one brings.
When she does find time for herself, yoga and sound are her go-to's. Rolling out her mat and reconnecting with her breath, body and voice helps her reset and get back to her roots.
We were also curious about what she's into these days in terms of reading and listening:
Reading "Reclaiming Childbirth as a Rite of Passage" by Rachel Reed
Listening to // 066 with Dr. Ngahuia Murphy, a kaupapa Māori researcher delving into ancestral knowledge
Tish's blend of everyday moments and her commitment to self-care shows us how staying connected to yourself can be woven into the fabric of busy life.
