Last night we went to the new illuminate light and sound show at Karapiro. Very accessible event we were guided to a mobility parking spot just down from the event and having my scooter there made it easier and more independent for me to get around but wheelchairs could get there as well easily. Bathrooms were accessible and huge! I was able to get my scooter in and have room to move around (see photo) and plenty of food trucks etc to grab dinner and dessert! Only down side was there wasn’t a lot for adults to do before gates opening and it getting dark so next time I probably wouldn’t arrive so early! Also PSA for those sensitive to flashing/strobe lighting this probably isn’t the event for you.

Last night I went with some friends to a magical candlelight performance at St Peter’s Cathedral in Hamilton. Was absolutely beautiful. A fully accessible venue with ramps up to the church and/or handrails on the steps and mobility parks right outside the door as shown. I chose to use crutches to this one as the parking was sooo close and to sit with friends. Accessible for wheelchairs to although keep in mind if does have pews as seating so wheelchairs may have to place at the back which isn’t the end of the world as it’s a small venue. Swipe to see a snipet of the performance Candlelight Concerts by Fever St Peter's Cathedral, Hamilton
