Tears were seen in the crowd and you could see that lyrics really moved people. There were laughs too of course... everyone had a wonderful time. To everyone who has supported me on this crazy journey I can’t thank you enough, I wouldn’t have been able to do this without your support so I will forever be thankful ❤️❤️❤️ you all know who you are ❤️ and to all of my new 5mof whānau up there on that stage with us I am so incredibly grateful to have met every single one of you, I will happily and graciously be in your corner for life now ❤️ every step of the way was a challenge, every battle was a fierce one, I’ve shed so many tears both happy and sad over this particular moment but it always comes back to the same thing…
I did what I set out to do, I proved to myself that I could sing every song that I was ever afraid of, I proved that I could silence my inner saboteur long enough to be on that stage completely alone and hold an audience captive, surrounded by cameras and people in an incredibly unfamiliar and foreign environment and I not only held my own, but I thrived up there on that stage.
I may not be fluent in Te reo Māori, I chose rock bands and country music over kapa haka at high school, and I choose to dye my hair every colour of the rainbow because that is who I am, I am me and I have finally come to terms with that and I’m finally happy not trying to pretend to be someone or something that I’m not ❤️
I am an unapologetically anxious, nervous and shy musical loving weirdo who leaves all fears and doubts behind whenever I’m singing onstage because it’s the only thing that has ever given me the confidence to truly be myself.
So Thankyou Māori Television for allowing me to be myself in every sense of the word, you truly made such an uncomfortable situation comfortable and I appreciate each and every one of you so much!

Tomorrow night is it!!! The FINAL to end all finals ❤️ it has been one hell of a journey with all of our new 5mof whānau, and win or lose we are all absolute winners 🥰
