We had a blast with you all at Hornby club last Saturday night as we played our last gig before Christmas! Lots of questions came up about Sweetazz next year so we thought we’d make a post to inform you of a few things.
Awarded a Scholarship at University of Canterbury, our youngest member Josh is off to study a double degree in Law and Commerce next year, meaning he is taking a break from the band to focus on study, as well as new musical adventures such as playing solos/duos at bars in the city. You can follow him and his journey on Josh Keating Music
Sweetazz will still be at Hornby club, there just might be a new member or two 😉 and Josh and Shane hope to be back in the future.

While half of Sweetazz were doing incredible competing, the other half (Doug and Shane) were busy in the Backing band all weekend!
Playing from 8am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday! As well as playing the massive finals concert on the Sunday night!

Our Guitarist/singer Josh Keating Music also entered the MLT NZ Gold Guitar Awards and made 5 finals, and took out the Intermediate Instrumental section and the Intermediate Country rock section.
He also took out the soloist overall in the Freeze ya bits of busking Competition as well as the people’s choice award!

All of us headed down to Gore last weekend for the NZ Gold Guitar awards! But not as Sweetazz…!
Our singer/bassist Aroha entered and made 3 Finals and took out the traditional section so massive congratulations Aroha Williams!! We are very proud ☺️
