This project was a full house renovation and extension of a Devonport villa that required extensive design work. Cheltenham Rd. was engaged to provide an overall look and feel for the design direction of the property as well as provide floor plans, elevations, renders and product schedules for every room in the house.

Evolving from a distinctly traditional residence into a modern family home. Curated rooms comprise of contemporary forms sitting harmoniously within the architectural foundations of a 1910 villa. The clients wanted a glamorous, bespoke hotel vibe and to highlight their existing quirky art and use sculptural lighting and bursts of colour against muted tones and this will be seen in the visual and textural journey throughout the home mixing modern and traditional elements.

Special highlights of this project included specifying the dark concrete floor, designing the villa wardrobes and panelled hallway and a bespoke oak battened suspended ceiling (designed in collaboration with Fraser Gillies) with feature lighting as well as a custom fireplace covered in large format, ceramic wall panels.

This vast project spanned almost 2 years, kicking off before and building throughout the Covid19 pandemic. Every surface was revived, rebuilt or extended and the result is a beautiful villa and modern home that will live on for another 100 years. ​​​​​​​​

It is the family home of one half of CR, Emma & her husband Ross and it's location (being just footsteps from Hayley - the other half of CR) is the inspiration behind our business name. ​​​​​​​​

See if you can spot all the creative curved lines repeated throughout this homes renovation? In the custom joinery and even in the curtains. Repeation of elements and shapes in a home means that rooms feel connected and cohesive - even when making bold design choices like they have here.

Part of stylish reno by founder in Venice, California. The interiors (and exterior architecture) are all fabulous too. But this fun image with the kids and the circular decking and the established tree really stands out.

How things have changed. It’s hard to imagine not using a computer in the work we do.

On the plus side - a little lie down while at work would have been nice.
