Meg is a founding member of Women in Sport Aotearoa! Applications are now open for our new kaupapa Māori leadership programme for aspirational wāhine Māori. The programme, Whakatipu Wāhine Toa, has been developed by our roopu He Wāhine Toa Kei te Kokiri and is to be held in November this year.

The aim of Whakatipu Wāhine Toa is for mana enhancing growth in leadership and capabilities, that are innately within all Wāhine Māori. We aim to tautoko wāhine to step strongly into their rangatira space and pave the way for others to do the same'. The kaupapa is based on tikanga Māori principles such as whakapapa, mana, kotahitanga, whanaungatanga, and manaakitanga.

Whakatipu Wāhine Toa is designed by Wāhine Māori for Wāhine Māori working in sport, recreation and exercise organisations or related industries, who have experienced mid-level leadership roles, such as team leaders, project leads or managers who aspire to higher leadership levels.

The programme will run in Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) from 1-5 November 2024.

Today marks a significant milestone as we celebrate four incredible years of Sharpe Marketing. Throughout this journey, we’ve achieved numerous milestones that have shaped our growth and success. Personally, I’ve now had the privilege of working under my own brand longer than in my previous two roles, which is a testament to our enduring commitment and passion.

All of this would not be possible if it wasn't for my wonderful advisory accountant, guiding the way and putting up with my silly questions.

On June 1, 2024, there were some big updates made to the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Financing of Terrorism Act 2009 (AML/CFT).

These changes are part of the second phase of updates following a review by the Ministry of Justice.

Reporting entities, including financial institutions, lawyers, and accountants, were required to be prepared for these changes.

Join the Jammie Army this June!

Dame Valerie Adams is working with Middlemore Foundation this year to support over 15,000 tamariki in New Zealand, who experience living in cold and damp conditions, resulting in hospital admissions and respiratory illnesses.

Jammies will be given to children at Kids First and the 76 primary schools the foundation supports through the Mana Kidz School Health programme.

The Sharpe Marketing team got together on the weekend in Tāmaki Makaurau, for their first offsite event this year!

The day started with ‘Our Why’ - A team building and personal development exercise; we talked about WHY we do what we do and WHAT we have learnt about ourselves this year before we dived into our SWOT analysis to ensure we can be the best we can be 💯 Then the team headed out to Soul Bar and Bistro for some absolutely delicious food!

As a virtual team, we make it a priority to connect in person on a regular basis, turn off our notifications (unless super urgent 😉) unwind, relax and enjoy some downtime together

Daylight savings ends tonight. We fall back into Winter which means an extra hour of sleep and shorter days ahead. We are all looking forward to the extra hour of sleep!⏰

Today we are celebrating the 2 year anniversary of our Marketing Manager, Melissa. She has remained (mostly) cool under pressure and we love how she just gets on and does the job regardless!
