Foroptics is now covering ROP screening in the Hawkes Bay
A comprehensive national ROP screening service, with photo documentation of progression, would help stop situations like these from occurring.
With Foroptics, images and reports are sent through to the baby's care team when transferred between hospitals (or DHBs). These images and reports are also used by the baby's ophthalmologists when they are discharged from the screening program for continued monitoring.

Dr Satya Prakash Tiwary of Drishtipunj Netralaya, Patna describes his positive experience using the 3nethra neo wide-field imaging system and how it enables him and his team to screen babies in inaccessible areas that lack quality eyecare services.
“When you’re looking at a piece of equipment to serve in detecting or screening ROP, it is important for the device to have mobility and to be of good quality. Anything other than that is inadequate. I’ve been using Forus Health’s 3nethra neo for quite some time now. Its compact design and easy-to-operate features allow our team to screen more babies and reach areas we weren’t able to before. The device is designed to be ultralight and reaches the extreme periphery regions of the retina quite easily. Not only does it find deformities, it also finds the extent of such issues. The telemedicine platform allows me to review and provide diagnoses from anywhere — making it a good device indeed. I wish to express my wonderful experience with the 3nethra neo and its performance”.
Thank you, Dr Tiwary, for your kind words!
