The Deco Tour

Beautiful day for touring our beautiful Art Deco city of Napier. One the last cruise ships for the season was port in today.

This fabulous group from the Ovation of the seas had a splendid time touring the Art Deco sites of Napier. The National To***co Company building, always a highlight! My new Deco frock got its 1st outing...

Only today while sitting opposite this sculpture in Dickens St, did I realise that it was a tribute to the Architects that redesigned Napier after the earthquake...love it when you make new discoveries! 😃

Very proud for The Deco Tour to be a finalist in the Hawke's Bay heritage awards tonight.
There was some tough competition and the winners thoroughly deserved their awards.

Fabulous day to take out our 1st cruise ship passengers for 2.5 years. We welcomed Ovation of the seas to Napier with a beautiful spring day.

Napier's Municipal Theatre opened in 1938 has fabulous Art Deco lighting in the foyer and auditorium... So great to see them shining bright again.

Hi for those that don't know me I'm Ronda, owner of The Deco Tour, and on Saturday I am proud to say I was reelected to Napier City Council. 🥳 2 very different hats I wear but both are about loving this beautiful city of Napier.

Had a great group out on tour on Sunday. Bus 2 - a group that met at a rugby world cup tour in France in the early 2000's. Still partying together many years later. So glad they chose to do a Deco tour with us.. many laughs along the way!

Great to have some visitors from Christchurch out on tour this week, they were up to watch hockey but took the chance to learn about Napier's History.

New Events Update - Art Deco Festival Napier!

We are delighted to announce there are 8 NEW events added to the Art Deco Festival Napier programme, which has 53 events proceeding safely under the Red Setting of the Protection Framework.

The list of new events includes radio plays, luncheons, dining events and a selection fantastic shows. There really is something for everyone!

Please note, the new dining events are now sold in groups of four. These events have been designed to ensure they can proceed safely within the Protection Framework guidelines.

91 years ago today at 10.47am Napier was struck by a 7.8 earthquake it lasted 2.5mins and 256 lives were lost in Hawke's Bay, still New Zealand's worst natural disaster.
But Napier was resilient and rebuilt much of our beautiful city in 2 years!
