Let’s talk about the magic of wool. 🐑

Our bedheads are made using New Zealand natural wool. Knowing we didn’t want to use toxic foam in our bedheads, we embarked on a research mission to find the best alternative.

The solution was simple, New Zealand’s most magical resource - wool!

Today is Earth Day 2024 and at Wink we like to recognise this special day. Being good to our planet is a very important part of our ethos and why we actively make choices to use sustainable materials and practices wherever we can.

founders created and organized the very first Earth Day on April 22, 1970. Since then, they have been mobilizing over 1 billion people annually on Earth Day, and every other day, to protect the planet. This year the focus is on ‘Planet vs Plastics’ - advocating to build a plastic-free planet for generations to come.

We want to help spread this important message and as a business we’ll be continuing to make choices that help protect our planet.

Winkspo Wednesday 🌟😉🌟

First Winkspo of 2024 and this one is exemplifying two of the three aspects that are apparently ON TREND for this year, namely:
- Brown
- Curved
- Metallic
Not sure if you (or I for that matter) agree with forecasts but I have to say that this setup looks pretty great! Calm, serene and so inviting 😴.
Our Bramble bedhead is this shape, and we happily do extended bedheads encompassing the bedsides and incorporating lights and power points. This has a border, which can be easily achieved with piping (either contrasting or matching) or this would look awesome with studs in an antique bronze to tone in with the bedside light. Winning!!

Today is officially the first day back in office for Wink, and the pictured image was one of the most popular of last year (aww shucks guys that it’s of me!) so it’s getting a repeat to welcome in the new year.

This is our Bramble bedhead which is one of the newer shapes to join our line up, and one that you’ve been requesting a lot! Decidedly contemporary due to the gentle curve of the corners, but always at home in any setting. Looks lovely au natural, or zhushed up with added studs, or even how about with fringing on the edge.

Here it is seen in a lovely tweedy green that our interior designer customer chose for their client. We love the collaborative team work 😉🛏

We are always so grateful to receive photos from customers showing their Wink bedheads in situ. And doesn’t this Rose bedhead in Champagne Boucle just look fabulous?! This was chosen by the customer for their new guest room (that also sometimes still houses their Uni student child) and works wonderfully with their bedding and art. If I was their child I might reconsider moving back home haha.

Rounding out our Oz anniversary holiday we stayed at a place that has been on my radar since before starting up Wink. Obviously I love a good bedhead 😉, and boutique hotels often do them so well. The fabulous is designed by and she also loves a good bedhead so we were in good hands. The design theme centres around blue and white, which is such a classic mix but Anna turbo charges it with using many different patterns and textures. A bit strong for some (looking at my hubby here!) but I love it. Especially in a hotel as you’re only staying for a short time so why not have some fun?!
One more day to go staying with friends, and then it’s back to reality for us feeling rested and replenished, and oh so grateful 🥰😍😘.

Carrying on with my holiday bedhead theme….we were so fortunate to have a very special anniversary lunch at a local designed restaurant. Unfortunately staying inhouse wasn’t on the the cards but check out the bedheads of the rooms - swoooooon!
Love the quirky shape that adds interest, yet it’s in muted tones so that it’s not overwhelming. Finely judged as always by this star designer!

I’m across the ditch at the mo on holiday celebrating my wedding anniversary🥰. Whenever I travel I always if possible try to stay somewhere that ticks the box aesthetically and sustainably. Here is my sumptuous bedhead in Byron Bay - it’s 100% linen, as is the bedding, and it’s feather filled! Such a lovely light airy feel. Everything is in soft cloud like pastels ☁️. Feeling soooooo relaxed!!

We’ve made a lot of these in tonal neutrals as seen here, but it also looks great in a strong solid colour. What would you choose?

Today’s beauty is from . Totally in love with the serene scheme in this one, which seriously is a masterclass in textures. Note the neutral bedhead (similar to our Koru style, but with wings (which we can do!)) in a slubby canvas type fabric that is a calm backdrop for the lush deep olive fringed velvet cushion and the lovely embroidered bedspread, which is then juxtaposed with the golden brass bedside, the rough wood footstool and the striped lampshade sitting atop a dark glossy base. And then throw in a light airy tree and it’s all WORKING! Hats off to Steve!

Just a note to say that in order to be sleeping under the bedhead of your dreams by Christmas, or have some custom designed cushions, we are happy to say that we still have some leeway!!

Any orders received by 24/11, as long as the fabric is already in NZ, will be able to be made and delivered to you in time, and in some cases the timing could even be pushed out a little further.

This bedhead just ooooozes ‘jump into me and pull up the covers and float away to the most blissful serene calm sleep’. Don’t you think?!
The cream tone of the bedhead, with the softened edges, is giving off cloud like vibes. And then juxtaposed with the soft sky blue panelling behind, grounded by some earthy cushions and deeper toned bedside tables brings it all together.
Sigh. Well done - nailed it!!
