The Black House - Hanmer Springs

A few holiday upgrades for the black house… Deck has been stained, netting has been put up around the hedge to stop our four legged friends escaping and the third heatpump has been installed in the upstairs bedroom to keep you nice and cool at night.

If you are after a last minute break we have the last week of the school holidays free at the Black House. Make the most of a mid week break with a quiet Hanmer Springs.

Hanmer holiday fun…there is so much on these July school holidays. Our girls loved the ice skating and we could not go home without stopping at the Lolly pot. Sadly we didn’t get a chance to go to the hanmer hotel for their famous pasta night… that will be next time.

Over the holidays a few renovations went on at the black The Black House - Hanmer Springs we put up gates to securely fence the back of the house off for our four legged friends, installed panel wall heaters I. Two of the down stairs bedrooms and check out our awesome coat hooks in the mud room! We look forward to you coming to stay!

Hey we have just had a cancellation for the 26-30th of April if anyone is after a last minute school holiday break in Hanmer Springs!

We have had a last minute cancelation for this weekend and the first week of the private school holidays. The Black House would love to host you so for bookings between the 7th of April and 14th of April we would like to offered a reduced rate of $250 per night. Come and enjoy a dinner at our favourite resturant - The Hanmer Hotel, Coffee at Mumbles then relax in the pools for the afternoon.

Welcome to the Black House @ Hanmer Springs, New Zealand.

This is my design for a family friendly holiday house, which my husband and I have built ourselves. We have tried to incorporate everything we love in a house to make the ultimate family friendly home away from home. Our house is located in central Hanmer in the Village Lakes subdivision.

There are four bedrooms. Bedroom 1 is a king, bedroom 2 is a queen, bedroom 3 has two singles, and bedroom 4 has two singles. Bedroom 1 and bedroom 4 both have ensuites while the other two rooms share a bathroom. This is a family friendly house and there are plenty of toys and books to entertain your children. There is also trampoline to burn off some energy! You will find a portacot and highchair to use for your little one too.

The large kitchen with double ovens will allow you to cook for a full house. You will find all your home convinces, such as a dishwasher, microwave, nespresso, soda stream, and slow cooker all tucked away neatly in the kitchen. The house is designed to capture the sun and the surrounding views. There are two heat pumps downstairs to keep you warm in winter and cool in summer. Upstairs there is a panel heater if its supper chilly. All curtains are block out to give you the best sleep while you are on holiday and the queen and king beds have electric blankets.

This house has been our labour of love over the last year and a half and our children love it! They have been our inspiration and we have tried to include their ideas into the design. We hope you love it as much as we do!!

Rates are $250 per night up to five people. $300 per night for six to eight people. Weekend booking are for two nights and long weekends have a three night booking.
