Elections 2024 - Tauranga City Council 10/07/2024

If you haven't voted for the next Tauranga City Council, you can come down to the Community Centre on Monday the 15th July, or Wednesday the 17th of July to vote in person.

The Tauranga City Council elections close on Saturday 20 July 2024 at midday.

• Registered voters will be receiving their voting packs in the mail. You can check if you’re enrolled to vote at vote.nz.

• If you don’t receive a pack, don’t worry, you can still vote. Visit council’s website to find out how to cast a special vote and where to go – it’s easy. Go to Tauranga.govt.nz/elections

• Voting packs include an information booklet on the candidates, but council also has some helpful candidate videos and bios on its website for voters to learn more about who wants to represent them.

• On your voting form you’ll need to rank your candidate choices 1, 2, 3, 4... do not put a tick in the box. You can rank as many or as few of the candidates as you like. If your first pick doesn’t get the numbers and is eliminated from the first round, then your vote goes to your second pick… and so on until there is a winner.

• You can post your voting paper before Wednesday 17 July.

• Or you can drop it in one of 43 orange voting bins located at all Tauranga supermarkets, Tauranga City Council libraries, and the Mount Hub before midday on Saturday 20 July.

• Your last chance to vote is by midday 20 July.

If you have any questions, please email [email protected].
