Day 9
Today's efforts
I spent almost the whole day in my studio to get this print right...the moon was causing me trouble besides other technical issues, but I'm happy with this little guy 😊 This will be a limited edition linocut on high quality cotton paper, size A4.

I invite Joni Artist - Paintings & Illustration to show some of her beautiful paintings.

Day 7
"Autotomy" & "Konk"
I love to work with found materials, natural or manmade. I love to alter and change them, put them in new contexts. These works take a long time to evolve as I have certain criteria/concepts I follow and not always I have the perfect matching other pieces on hand - not yet!...So, often I end up having just played around without having a result.
The satifying about it is, that in the end these works are truly unique, tell their own story and give found, discarted objects another chance.

I invite my talented friend Karyn Roberts to show some of her beautiful works.

Day 6
"parts of something bigger" and "bach no7".
I haven't shown many of my other kind of works here, I use mainly my instagram.com/nadinemeyernz
So today I'm showing you what I'm doing in my studio when not printing --- assemblages/wall sculptures/found objects!
It's so good when you're stuck with one thing to go on with something completely different!

I invite Katie Blundell Artist to show some of her awesome works. Katie is also a printmaker, but works in other media, too!

Day 3
"South Island Lichen Moth and Five-Finger"
Linocut print on cotton paper

This linocut is part of a group of prints bringing together plants and animals feeding on them. I noticed feeding traces on different plants here, investigated what caused them and brought the animal and the plant together in my prints. It fascinates me, that these tiny animals are actually the secret creators of all those familiar patterns in the leafs as in Kawakawa or Pohutukawa, which we see all the time, which are part of the landscape.
Making prints of Flora and Fauna of NZ is my way of learning about my new home Aotearoa.

I invite my very talented and kind friend Anoushka Szybowski to show some of her beatiful works. Anoushka made these prints possible by longterm lending me her printmaking press. Big THANK YOU!❤

Day 2
Linocuts on wood

The "wave" was the first Linocut I made here in NZ and the first one since doing it at school quite a while ago. I explored a wide range of printmaking techniques at Uni, from woodcut to drypoint, multicolored aquatint, screenprint to lithography, but never really linocut! Rediscovered it soon became a passion and it still is. My designs are mainly inspired by the beautiful nature surrounding me.

I invite the very talented Karin Rytter Studio, much admired printmaker to show some of her absolute stunning works.

Day 1
Silent narrations, acrylics on canvas tryptich, 2012, part of the group exhibition "Giardini" in Eichstätt, Germany, 2012

This early work shows already my interested in the little, often unseen, overseen, unnoticed things, the everyday banality. People waiting at a traffic light. They share a short moment in space and time. Where did they come from, where do they go? Who is who?

I'm not painting figurative anymore at the moment. But it was a part of the path of seeing the unseen and working with everyday's objects, materials and topics.
See more of my silent narration works at https://www.nadinemeyer.org/silentnarrations

I invite my friend Iris to show some of her works. She was part of the exhibition in 2012 in Eichstätt with her large scale figurative paintings and created the Oblomov lockup challenge during the covid19 lockdown 2020. Iris, ich würde mich freuen, was von dir zu sehen xx
