Nimrod Racing
Keep up to date with the progress of our race car's big & small...
The passion for the racing started in the early 70s & it has continued through the generations now hitting the 3rd generation of the family, we are getting back to the track!
One of our fabulous sponsors,
Our final show at Greenstone Park Speedway for the season was last Saturday for the ever popular, always amazing King of the Coast! This is always the biggest show of the season with lots of guys and gals from other clubs making the trip, we had 20 ministocks which is the biggest field of ministocks we’ve had in grey for a long time! That paired with some great weather and an awesome track made for close racing across the board, and after a busy week of repairs and prep we were fizzing for it!
Race one was action packed from the drop of the flag, with a gm club mate going on his lid causing reds on the first lap. Both cars making good pace until another car was spun out in front of old Buck in 65GM, with nowhere to go that was him to the infield with a bent bumper. Young Buck kept the nose clean in 64GM, narrowly beating club mate/track rival/chassis builder/good mate (and a gun of a pilot) Jesse in the 77GM machine for 5th place and first gm car home for race one.
65GM: start P9, DNF
64GM: start P4, finished 5th
Race 2 saw back end grids for both the Bruise and the Yellow Submarine, with 65GM on grid 17 and 64GM on grid 13. Between races the ole porta power was utilised to straighten 65GMs bumper, but after two laps she was back in banana mode and back to the infield with another DNF. 64GM again kept the nose clean having a great battle with the 11GM of Katie Shearer and also Harlen in the 27N car, bringing it home in 11th place.
65GM: grid 17, DNF
64GM: grid 13, finished 11th
She was all go in the pits to get 65GM back in shape for the final race, where old Buck had grid 2. After a run of bad luck all day, it seemed some clear air in front was all he needed to bring home a win (essentially winning every race he finished for the day) and adding a bit of flair to his victory lap (see comments) 🏁 64GM had grid 13 again and as usual kept the nose clean and having another awesome battle against clubmate Mark in the 24GM, sister car to the Yellow Submarine bringing it home in 12th.
65GM: grid 2, finished 1st 🏁
64GM: grid 13, finished 12th
This put 64GM in 9th place overall and 65GM in 14th for the day, young Buck was stoked to be the fastest Buckman overall out there for once! 😂
Congratulations to Shayden 93C, Mason 131C and Jesse 77GM for making the top 3, and all the away drivers for making the trip
As usual thanks to our awesome pit crew Cindy, Kaz, Belinda, Hunter, Nevaeh, Maddie, Dale and Saph for keeping the cars in tip top shape 🧼🔧

We might make the trip up to Westport for Kings birthday, still undecided yet but if we do, we’ll see you there and if not, we’ll see you next season! Thank you all so much for the support 🫡🏁
Happy Easter everyone, hope you all enjoyed the long weekend! We spent Saturday at Greenstone Park Speedway for Mainland Ministocks, what a day it was! 17 cars in the field for us, one of the biggest fields we’ve had in a long time which made for fun and interesting racing
65GM started the day off in his usual manner, starting grid 2 and then leaving everyone else in the dust for an easy win 🏁 64GM started grid 12, kept the nose clean through some tight pack racing, lost a few spots then threaded the needle and worked his way back up to 10th
65GM: grid 2, finished 1st 🏁
64GM: grid 12, finished 10th
Race 2 saw 64gm on grid 2 and 65GM on grid 8, 64GM was a touch slow on takeoff and then picked the wrong line a few laps in, letting most of the field slip past so then it was back to work making ground back to finish 10th once again. 65GM kept his nose clean and come home a respectable 6th place
65GM: grid 8, finished 6th
64GM: grid 2, finished 10th
Race 3 was a lot more of a mixed bag, after some delays from other grades we came out to a surface with a very slick low line and no visibility on the back straight due to sunstrike. 65GM started from grid 17 and 64GM started grid 13 but very quickly found running the top was the way to go. Both cars were absolutely flying with 65GM in 4th and 64GM in 3rd when all hell broke loose, a big pile up in turn 4 (no visibility and a greasy surface got a few cars tangled up) saw 65GM caught amongst the mess with 64GM getting past it around the outside. That’s where the luck ran out though because on the restart 64GM flooded and wouldn’t refire, with another car behind having nowhere to go there was a punt up the bum and another red which saw both Ni**od entries make the walk of shame to the infield. 64GM had no major damage but 65GM suffered a broken arm, bent diffy and broken rim but hey that’s racing.
Overall a pretty good day, young buck is stoked that he went nearly two whole seasons without a dnf in the yellow submarine! The Average Jo chassis is definitely a great package. 65GM is all patched up now and we’re ready for the next show. Congratulations to Jesse Oldham 77GM for taking out the trophy, and also congratulations to Mason Bland 131C and Tom Harris 55GM on their podium placings.
As always big shout out to Cindy, Belinda, Hunter, Nevaeh, Maddy, Dale and Saph for keeping the cars tidy and working hard between races 🧼🏁

Our next show is this Saturday for King of the Coast, this is the last show for the season at Greenstone Park and she’s set to be a goodie! Kick off at 12 so get your backsides trackside and we’ll see you there! 🫡🏁
Sunday saw us at our home ground Greenstone Park Speedway as a support class for the Whyte Gold Modified Gold Rush! A great day with good numbers across the board
Race 1 was a super muddy surface which made for no traction for anyone, definitely more fun than fast! 64GM started right off the back in grid 9 making his way through the field finishing 4th. 65GM was on his usual fast pace until a broken bolt left his wheel gate hanging loose resulting in a dnf
64GM: grid 9, finished 4th
65GM: grid 2, dnf
Race 2 was a much smoother track, 65GM going straight back into business after fixing the wheelgate picking up another flag 🏁 whereas 64GM seemed to use up all his pace in race one and had some good battles at the rear of the pack.
64GM: grid 3, finished 7th
65GM: grid 4, finished 1st 🏁
Race 3 was similar to race two, 64GM again having a good grid but getting into a groove just a bit too late, again with some good battles toward the tail end of the pack. 65GM on the other hand was on rails as usual, going from the back of the grid right up to 2nd, only to be held off by his old nemesis Sarah Bellis piloting the ever fast 77GM machine, another wicked battle between the two (few and far between now that Sarah’s too cool for ministocks 😉)
64GM: grid 3, finished 8th
65GM: grid 9, finished 2nd
Overall a great days racing, thanks to our wicked pit crew Kaz, Hunter, Belinda, Maddie, Dale, Saph and show boss Cindy for keeping the cars clean and fueled and ready to rumble! Definitely earned their ice creams with the cleanup after race one!

64GM-
R1- grid 4, finished 4th
