Our notices for this week...
KIA TŪPATO - Be careful!
Tonight one of our tamariki was nearly hit by a car that failed to stop at the pedestrian crossing on Tawhiti Road. A black Mazda was travelling from town, didn't stop and as a result one of our boys has injuries on his face and body from getting out of the way.
Please remember to keep an eye out for kids crossing, slow down around schools and look out for our precious wee people!
We will also do our part through road crossing safety lessons with our children.
Safe communities together.
Happy Sunday!
Here are our reminders for the week.

There are a few schools in town that have had to close due to having no water. At this stage, we still have water (at a low pressure) and the toilets are flushing. Therefore we are all good here! We will message you if this changes and we require you to collect your children.

CHANGE OF VENUE AND TIMES FOR DISCO
SPREAD THE WORD!
Due to our fundraising disco clashing with rugby games this Friday, Southern Rugby Club Hawera have kindly sponsored the Camberwell Lounge at the Hub for us to host the disco. Hopefully this means many of our children in the Hawera community can play rugby AND support the disco.
Also a huge thanks to Hub Catering for allowing us to bring food onsite to fundraise for this worthy cause.
Just a reminder we have our disco next Friday!
We are grateful to the number of people who have contacted us wishing to make a donation. These donations can be put into our school account and we will pass them on...

****FUNDRAISER FOR A GREAT CAUSE****
One of our little guys, Axton, is having a real tough time! Let's get in behind him and his whānau.
Axton has been diagnosed with Aplasitc Anemia. He has already tried ATG (Anti-thymocyte globulin) treatment and sadly this has been ineffective. He has now been in hospital for a total of 124 days and sadly still counting. The next step is to undergo chemotherapy to prepare for a bone marrow transplant.
All funds raised from this disco will be given to Axton and his family. Spread the word and see you there...
Hangi is ready so can be collected between now and 5pm 😊
Just a reminder that we have road works around the school at present.
If possible, please drop children off on Tawhiti Road and get them to walk to school down Galt Street. For safety reasons the less traffic around school the better.
If you absolutely need to drop children off right outside school, please come down Galt street, around Tannahill street.
EASTER TUESDAY 🐰 A friendly reminder that Tuesday, 2 April 2024 is a school holiday.
Sometimes when Easter falls later in April, this holiday gets wrapped into the term break. But when it doesn't, Easter Tuesday is still a day off.
WHAT ABOUT EARLY LEARNING?
Terms and holidays are set for state schools under the Education (When State Schools Must Be Open) Regulations 2022. While many early childhood services follow school terms and holidays, some choose to operate.
Check with your provider if you're unsure. It's up to each early learning service to decide if they will operate on Easter Tuesday.
