Congratulations to the following U13 players who haven been selected to represent Hawke's Bay at the U13 Rookie Sox Tournament held at Fraser Park, Lower Hutt on the 3rd and 4th February 2024!

First training commences this weekend, Sunday 17th December on Diamond 1 at Akina Park, 9am-10am.

Congratulations to the following U15 Boys who have been selected to represent Hawke's Bay at the Central Vikings U15s tournament at Akina Park on the 20th - 22nd of January 2024!

Congratulations to the following U19 Boys who have been selected to play for Hawkes Bay to compete at the National U19 Fastpitch Championship at Fraser Park Hutt Valley, from Jan 4 to Jan 7 2024!

Congratulations to the following players who have been selected to represent Hawke's Bay at the National U17 Boys Softball Tournament in Christchurch from 10th -14th January 2024!

Each player is seeking sponsorship and will be doing a 2hr run-a-thon to fundraise. We would appreicate sponsorship between $1 to $30. Treat it like they just played a game with a twist to it to make it fun!

When: Sunday 17th December, 2023
Where: Akina Park - Diamond 9
Time: 9am-11am, then a break and 12-12.30pm game.

Players: Will need to bring a hat, water and a quick snack.
Parents: We will need your assistance in making this successful. It would be appreciated if you all can attend as help out as well!

It is an event that we would like to provide our Teeball Players in the future, so rest assured this could pop up again!

Unfortunately due to ground and weather conditions, Junior Softball has been cancelled today.

🚨 Junior Competition Cancellation Procedure 🚨

A gentle reminder of the process for cancellations due to wet weather for our Junior Competition, ie, sports grounds are closed by HDC or deemed not safe for games to take place by HBSA.
Any cancellation will be made by 7.45am (Saturday morning) at the latest and communicated out via email to schools/club contacts and posted through our page.

Soo, if your interested or have any girls in your whanau that will be u15 as of the 31st December, please let us know. Really committed to having local team, willing to help train and give you the best opportunity to compete. Experience is not necessary, just a willing to learn and make the most of it.

NEW ZEALAND BLACK SOX TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT

After a successful camp at the weekend, Thomas Makea has selected his first team as Head Coach of the New Zealand Black Sox.

“This team marks the first step in rebuilding the New Zealand Black Sox foundation, strengthening our future team's depth, and igniting a renewed sense of pride in our softball legacy” says Makea.

The Black Sox will compete at the WBSC Oceania Regional Qualifier in American Samoa, November 9-11.

The event is being staged in the capital city of Pago Pago and will see the Black Sox compete against current World Champions Australia, and hosts American Samoa.

“I am proud of the strides the squad made over the weekend, and it gives me reassurance that we are all aligned and heading in the right direction”.

“We have a nice balance of youth and experience amongst the team. Liam Potts and Te Kirika Cooper-Nicola make the step up from the U23 program and Adam Woon, Jayden Stratford, Callum Bishop, and Zac Boyd will all make their international debuts.” says Makea.

The three-day qualifier will see the Black Sox contest six test matches as they commence their campaign toward 2025 World Cup Qualification.
