Welcome to Waitakere Water Polo Club, West Aucklandβs home of Water Polo. Founded in 1984, our vision is to see all of our members thrive.
Welcome to Waitakere Water Polo Club! We welcome new members at all levels from Flippa ball through to Seniors. We have an active committee which meets regularly and all are welcome to attend our meetings. Our team supporters can be found poolside at most games - we are a friendly, supportive club who have a culture founded on supporting one another and giving it a go. If you enjoy water sports, come along and give water polo a go!
Itβs been a big four weeks so far of the U16 Season! As we clear the half way mark of the season we can reflect on some of the amazing results and learning experiences our three U16 teams have had so far ππΌππΌ
π‘π€½π½Gold Girls (Div 2) are running 3 wins and 2 losses with one more pool game this Saturday (3:30pm at SHC) and then a bye next weekend before having their final placing game on 7th September!
π‘π€½πΌββοΈGold Boys (Div 1) have had some tough games and are currently playing in the 5-9th pool in a round robin style. This Saturday they are playing Sea Wolf Grey at 2:40pm at Dio.
π΅π€½πΌββοΈTeal Boys (Div 2) finished their original pool round in a 3 way tie and have gone through to the 5-10th playoffs and have three games to go for the rest of the season. This weekend they will be playing at SHC at 1:50pm.

Our U14s have had an epic weekend down in Rotorua at the the Development Tournament! π€©
Our boys finished in 6th place (2W 3L) and the girls finished 10th (1W 5L)! π₯³

A great first day for our U14s at the Rotorua Development Tournament ππ
Our Boys game away with a strong win against Hutt while the Girls had two losses, one against Hutt and then other against Tauranga.
Between the two teams, they will be playing 5οΈβ£ games tomorrow - a massive effort for them both!!

Over the last week some of our club members have been involved with the New Zealand Menβs U20 Programme!! Over the last three days the team have played a tri-series against the U18 Australian Green team, coming out on top 2-1. β«οΈβͺοΈπͺπΌ

Liv made her international debut, refereeing the third match between NZ & Aus. While it wasnβt an offical game, and more used for training purposes, it is amazing to see how local refs take on these challenges πͺπΌ

Popping in for our forth photo, we have Conal who, like Fin, has been involved with this U20 squad (and the U18 squad). Conal is one of our Senior Men, but plays for for the rest of the season!

A massive congratulations to our Senior Men who have finished 4th in Round 2 of the Division 2 National League π€½π½ββοΈπͺπΌ
The men fought tirelessly over the last 3 days and have come away with their best result in a NZWP Division 2 Round - 4th. NZWP will update us later today with their final overall placing for the tournament so far.
We have one more round to go before the tournament concludes - taking place at the end of June. π
