Happy Father's Day to all the daddas out there 💙 Here's my Dad, he's pretty awesome! I didn't see him today because he's on his way to the mountain for a week of skiing. He's very dedicated to keeping fit and well so he can keep doing things that he loves. 🤩I hope I'm that active and adventurous in my 70's!

I saw some amazing plants and had a wonderful weekend at Te Kauri Lodge in Kawhia, out in the bush learning more about Rongoā Māori.
We were incredibly lucky to have two amazing teachers - Pā Ropata (aka Rob McGowan) and Donna Kerridge. They are so humble and generous in sharing the phenomenal amount of knowledge and wisdom they have gathered from many years of study and observation.
These Rongoā courses are open to everyone, and I highly recommend them to anybody wanting to learn more about wellbeing, traditional Māori medicine, and caring for our native forests.

I'm so grateful to part of the incredible team at Mother-Well Holistic Health ! And that our precious Loula is going to be OK!!
This is a beautiful write-up from our most precious Loula George who was recently in a car accident. We are so incredibly grateful that she is still with us and on the mend ❤️❤️❤️
FROM PRACTITIONER to PATIENT
One month ago, I was in a serious car accident in my own neighborhood. I am so very grateful that somehow, I miraculously came out of it with the few injuries that I received. From this event, I was lucky enough to experience the love and care of the amazing people I have in my life.
From being a practitioner at Mother-Well, I suddenly became a patient of Mother-Well. It gave me a rich insight into Mother-Well from the other side. I saw what an amazing hub of health it provides and how for me it became a source of wrap around care – a one- stop- shop. I had osteopathic and acupuncture from ACC registered practitioners that helped soothe my frayed nervous system and start to calm my body down so it could heal. I had homeopathic remedies and counselling; I will be having Havening to help with PTSD and I still have more to go – reiki and deeper trauma work. ALL at Mother-Well.
It made me realise what an amazing community resource we have at Mother-Well and I am so very grateful it exists for me and for all those who come through our doors every day.
Nga mihi nui for all the love and care from this amazing group of women healers and my precious friends.
Love this post from The Holistic Psychologist . It's really worth a read!
✨️ Glimmers ✨️ are the moments or experiences we have of feeling calm and peaceful - like when we look at a beautiful view of the ocean or have a hug from a friend. 🌻These moments are so valuable for our health and well-being, and the more we pay attention to them, the greater the benefits for our health. 🌟 Noticing glimmers is a free, easy, accessible tool to help regulate our nervous system and settle the stress response.

Covid-19 Update - Osteo treatment at Level 3
Hi everybody,
We hope that you are all hanging in there OK, with this lockdown that is continuing for so much longer than many of us expected. This is a quick update about osteopathic treatment under the current phase of Level 3.
Yesterday, the Osteopathic Council of New Zealand released updated guidelines for osteopaths enabling some 'urgent care' treatment at Level 3. This should bring us into line with other Allied Health providers such as physiotherapists and dentists who received their directives last week. Over the next few days we will be reviewing processes to ensure we meet all of our obligations for providing urgent care treatment.
We would like to help as many people as we can, while insuring we follow all of our guidelines. Please be aware that the criteria are still very limiting, and we have stringent risk management assessments to conduct for every treatment we consider.
If you would like to find out if your situation qualifies for the urgent care criteria we have been given, please contact us by email
([email protected] or [email protected]).
Warmly,
Kim and Pia
I love this model of health and well-being. It demonstrates well how the different aspects of our lives combine to make us strong and healthy, and it gives us a pathway back to health when things get out of balance 😀
Today's theme is about engaging with Te Whare Tapa Whā, so we thought we'd give you some more information about the origins of this model and how we can use it to better understand our own wellbeing.
Te Whare Tapa Whā was developed by leading Māori health advocate and researcher Sir Mason Durie in 1984, to provide a Te Ao Māori perspective on wellbeing. It's a model that describes health as a wharenui/meeting house with four walls. These walls represent taha wairua/spiritual wellbeing, taha hinengaro/mental and emotional wellbeing, taha tinana/physical wellbeing and taha whānau/family and social wellbeing. While not an official part of Te Whare Tapa Whā, our connection with the whenua/land forms the foundation.
Taking care of all four walls and the whenua beneath makes our wharenui strong - and our wellbeing strong too. Feeling a bit out of balance? Maybe one or more of our taha needs some extra attention right now.
How are you looking after your wellbeing this Mental Health Awareness Week? Which one of your taha are you feeling strongest in today? And which one might need a bit more TLC?
Excellent news! Changes to ACC legislation announced today mean that thousands more birth injuries will be covered by ACC! This is long overdue and we are so pleased that many more new parents will have access to the support and treatment they need to help them recover from injuries sustained during childbirth. A massive step in the right direction ♥️
Amazing work Anusha Bradley for helping to highlight this massive gap in care!

Mental Health Awareness week starts today 💚
It’s Day 1 of Mental Health Awareness Week! We’re so glad you’re joining us to take time to kōrero - mā te kōrero, ka ora.
Today’s theme is about reconnecting with someone you care about. When life gets busy it’s easy to forget to check in with the people in our lives, but having a kōrero with others nurtures our relationships and helps us to feel happy, connected and secure. Over time, these chats help us to understand each other better and ensure we have people we can count on when times are tough.
For some ways you could reconnect with someone today, check out https://mhaw.nz/
For more ideas and tips for how to have a safe and supportive kōrero download our MHAW Guide if you haven’t already. It’s packed full of handy links and activities related to each day of MHAW: https://mentalhealth.org.nz/.../mental-health-awareness...
We can't wait to see how you're taking time to kōrero this week!

This is excellent and much-needed!
'In less than 12 hours, more than 10,000 people have signed on the Green Party’s open letter asking for ACC to cover all birth injuries and trauma.
“This is a phenomenal show of support for mothers, parents and babies who are suffering due to traumatic births and birth injuries,” says Green spokesperson for ACC Jan Logie.
“We hope Minister Sepuloni sees this as the push she needs to ensure ACC covers all pain and suffering, and not just grade 3 and 4 perineal tears.
“We understand the Government will be making an announcement in before the end of the month about birth injuries, and it couldn’t come sooner.
“Hundreds of people have shared their personal stories of pain with us after signing the letter. The need is there. All new parents deserve support.”
