Fun Sticks Year 1-2
Wanting to get your kids involved with hockey this season? We are still accepting registrations for our Fun Sticks Programme which is an 8-week hockey programme designed for children aged 5-6 years (School Year 1 & 2). Join the fun this weekend on the 11th May when the Junior Hockey Season starts!

Welcoming all new and existing junior hockey players to come along this weekend, pick up a stick and have some fun! Bring your friends along too, as it's the perfect opportunity to get a taste of the sport before junior hockey officially starts in May!
We will be sharing Junior Club details for those who are wanting to join this season.

Vantage National Masters Tournament – one month to go.
Wellington Hockey Association is hosting the largest domestic hockey tournament in the country between 25th February to 2nd March 2024. There are 103 teams registered across the age groups from across the country.
To get ready to host the Tournament WHA is hosting a community working bee on Sunday 11th February. We are keen for all our Wellington Clubs to lend a hand if possible – it would be great to have 4-5 people from each club here on the day.
We have a range of jobs so if you are available, please contact [email protected] so we can order the right numbers of sausages to keep you going.
If you are keen to help but can't make it that weekend, please get in touch there will be several jobs that can be done mid-week/evenings.
Tournament Week Volunteers are also needed please let Amber know if you might be available for a couple of days or hours during the week to support the small WHA team to run this event.

The Community Awards are a chance for us to hear about and celebrate the great people you think are deserving of recognition within our community. Submit nominations for individuals, clubs/initiatives from the 2023 season who you think have embodied the WHA values and gone above and beyond in delivering great hockey in the Wellington. Anyone can nominate someone for a community award. Please share this nomination process with your club members.

Goal Keeper Academy lead coach Max Ruffell plays for our Men's NHC team and helped create the academy 2 years ago and has been coaching keepers for us since 2016. Sessions are of high intensity and involvement making sure all participants get a robust understanding of goal keeping techniques for the modern game!

MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS 🎉🎉 Riana Pho on her selection in the Vantage Black Sticks!! She will be joining the team for the Pro League series held in Christchurch, games will be played against GB and Aus.

We are running an introduction to become an umpire on the 22nd of March and 29th of March.
The course will be targeted at a beginner umpire, the course will be an hour-long session looking at the basics of umpiring.
e.g. positioning, how to blow the whistle, and signals. The course will be open to people starting to umpire either primary or college grade or even reserve open grade.
