🌟 Celebrating International Women’s Day🌟

On this International Women’s Day, we come together to honor the remarkable achievements of women across the globe. It’s a day to recognise their resilience, creativity, and unwavering commitment to shaping a more equitable world.

🌺 IWD Belongs to Everyone

Remember, International Women’s Day belongs to everyone, everywhere. Inclusion means that every action counts. Whether you organize an event, share inspiring stories, or simply have a heartfelt conversation, you’re part of this movement.

As Gloria Steinem, the world-renowned feminist, once said: “The story of women’s struggle for equality belongs to no single feminist nor any one organisation but to the collective efforts of all who care about human rights.” So let’s make this day count. Let’s create a positive difference for women, today and every day.

A big awhi to Pam Roa. Pam is stepping down from the Momentum Waikato Community Foundation board after joining in 2015. The Waikato Women's Fund sends a thank you to Pam for her contribution and for the support she has given us. She helped launch the fund in 2018 (pictured 2nd from the right at the event).

“Personally, most of all I loved being involved in founding the Waikato Women’s Fund - Te Ira Waahine o Waikato, a giving circle of people who donate anything from a few dollars up to tens-of-thousands of dollars, to build a fund that makes annual grants to organisations that help women and girls thrive."

We are so pleased to support the work of the The Spirit of Coromandel Trust and their ‘Waahine on Wheels’ programme. We were delighted to be able to donate a small grant from the proceeds from the Waahine Toa event held in October 2022.

The ‘Waahine on Wheels’ programme and the Spirit of Coromandel Trust was selected following a nomination process, aiming to support an organisation or an individual in the Hauraki or Thames-Coromandel districts affected by the recent weather events.
Read more here - https://bit.ly/wwfscbike

The Spirit of Coromandel Trust’s purpose is to encourage and engage rangitahi, tamariki and waahine into outdoor activities by connecting them to nature, by bike. The grant will go to further developing opportunities for local waahine and building future capability within the region for more women and girls.

Coffee & Connect events are held on a regular basis throughout the year. Each session has a slightly different agenda, sometimes with presenters or themes, but at its heart the focus is on building informal connections.
