Our friends Annie and Emma have purchased Homestead Interiors (will be known as Homestead of Hanmer)!!

You already know them both! Annie is our Fete lunch hero from Four Square Hanmer Springs and provides us with the most delicious platters and lunchboxes every year! Emma is the Queen behind Hanmer Springs Scenic Views Motel who look after Tour groups every Fete weekend and are booked our quite literally years in advance!

⭐️ Last night Hanmer Springs School hosted their annual fundraising event, Stars in their eyes. And what a night it was! They did an incredible job at orchestrating and executing this amazing event and managed to raise in excess of $20,000! We are honoured to have been part of this again and even more thrilled we could be there on the night.

“On behalf of the Hanmer Springs School and Home and School Association, we wanted to express our heartfelt gratitude for the unwavering support the Hanmer Springs Fete has extended to our school over the years. Their generous donations of prizes for our fundraisers have significantly contributed to the success of our events, allowing us to raise essential funds for our much-needed resources, teacher aids and school camps. In addition to donating prizes, the Hanmer Springs Fete has provided numerous opportunities for us to raise money through their events. These opportunities have not only helped us financially but have also fostered a strong sense of community and collaboration among our students, staff and whānau.” - Hanmer Springs School.

👋🏼 Oh, hi there! Welcome to the Hanmer Springs Fete! We thought it was time to reintroduce ourselves. We’re Abby (left) and Catherine (right). We’re proud to bring you a world-class event right in the heart of Hanmer Springs.

Abby is a born and raised country lass. She called Wānaka home until she went off to Lincoln University at the tender age of 17. After Graduation, Abby has worked and lived in a range of places but ended up calling Geraldine home. She enjoys her life with her husband Dave, two wee girls, terrior/pug Millie and questionably bred goats.

Catherine is the gypsy of the team. Raised in Reefton, at last count she had moved her 20th time. Event Management enticed Catherine to Lincoln University after High School and set her on a career path with Events at the heart. After 8 years in Hanmer Springs, Catherine now calls Blenheim home with her blended family of three kids, partner Brent and Schnauzer Gus.

Lincoln brought us together. Although our first meeting was met with some angst - ask Abby just how competitive she gets in a netball game…! After a few years on the opposite sides of the Tasman, our own small businesses saw us unite. One evening after a few too many wines we learnt just what an unstoppable duo we are and the Hanmer Springs Fete was born. We’ve survived Covid and snow, and are so proud of the platform we provide for small businesses. We both have full time day jobs, other small businesses and work on the Fete from our kitchen tables. Our “board meetings” are conducted via FaceTime and text message and always take place after the kids are in bed for the night!

We can’t wait to bring you another awesome day in 2024! Let’s just hope for a little less mud…

“On behalf of the Glenmark/Cheviot Rugby Club we would like to say a massive thank you for supporting our mystery balloon prize fundraiser on our Club Day. Without the support of fantastic local businesses the day wouldn’t have been achievable, so thank you once again - it is much appreciated!”

We are SO proud to support local community groups with their fundraising initiatives. We know how much of a struggle it is and love to help out where we can.

In light of the recent publicity about our change of date, we thought we would take the opportunity to share some things from our perspective
• "We have always prioritized creating a positive impact on the community while maintaining commercial viability. Our decision to make changes to our event date was carefully considered, based on data and feedback from our stakeholders, including stallholders, visitors and the community. We remain committed to supporting small businesses and contributing to the community.
• Moving forward, we aim to attract more visitors to the event, which will benefit the local community. Our focus is on providing a world-class experience and encouraging support for local businesses.
• We acknowledge the concerns raised and are open to constructive dialogue. We hope to address any issues and work towards a positive outcome for all involved. We are grateful for the support we have received and look forward to a successful event in November.

🛍️ Since 2019 we have hosted 866 stallholders and 15,500 guests at our events. We are proud to have provided a platform for new and existing small businesses to showcase their products and we can’t wait to bring you a seventh event in 2024.
