Now the cats out of the bag I can share with you why I haven't been posting much this year. Here is your reason....carrying a human has been very hard work and I've been incredibly unwell while doing it with several hospital admissions.

This is a high risk pregnancy even now in the second trimester there is still a lot of risk but I wanted to share my special news with you as I knew you would all be super supportive now and going forward.

Posting will be a little less this year as I look after myself but for my loyal followers I am still here and very much taking your orders.

Yesterday my youngest turned 4!

He went to school and had a party with friends and cupcakes.

My heart feels so uplifted knowing how much he enjoyed his birthday.

We love you Chance. You are such an energetic boy and keep mumma on the move. Thank you for the love, talking and cuddles you have bought to our lives.

Love it or hate it?

The rain has arrived and so have the grey skies. I'm not so much a fan of the wind and everything looking grey which for some reason makes people dress in darker more boring clothing but I don't mind the rain as it helps the garden, which I haven't been the beat at watering recently.

So many responses to my post last night. On reflection I shouldn't be surprised because it is a topic that so many people know about intimately. But I am always so humbled by you commenting on the post or messaging privately. I love hearing from you and feel privileged that you feel comfortable to share your story with me.

When you get to a certain age, or have been in a relationship for a while the common question is when are you having kids?

STOP asking those questions. Partly it is none of your business and partly you have no idea what they have been through/are going through.

Similarly if someone tells you they have children, but they are fur children, again STOP telling them that it isn't a 'real' child or only a dog/pet because again you have no idea of their situation.

Not everyone wants human children, not everyone can have human children, some people have fur children instead but that isn't to say they are any less or worse of a parent because their children aren't human.

Long weekend for me so I headed to Waikanae for some family fun. Lunch in the shade and a wander through the restaurant garden.

So many butterflies, it made me think I need more flowers in my garden to bring more of them to my place.....just not the white ones as they eat all my veges.

Every year I set myself a word instead of specific goals as I don't want to not achieve them and feel blah about it, so rather I set myself a word or feeling and try to live towards that.

This year my word is intentional. Everything I do this year needs to have an intention that fits in with how I want to live, who I want to surround myself with and what brings me energy and a life worth living.

I saw a post from a fellow business owner last night and it resonated with me.

She posted to say her business is not doing any black Friday sales because they are a small business and they don't have the massive mark up to enable them to do this.

I have to agree with her and I am on the same page. Rather than creating massive margins I would rather you owned the items and loved wearing them. What is the point in creating massive margins that means you then create massive sales.

Money is tight across the board so I for one will not be supporting the black Friday sales and instead will shop with someone who isn't doing them as most likely the reason is they don't have the high margins to start with.

I really struggled today. To get out of bed. To eat. To do exercise. My mind didn't want to but my body was craving it.

I didn't do an outdoor run this week. It is one of my goals but I still did something. I knew I was struggling to get myself moving so the weather wasn't going to help that. Instead I got on the crosstrainer again and did 5km. I'm pretty proud of that.

The past two weeks I've done other exercise with the running but today the crosstrainer was enough.

The point is though that as much as I was struggling to do it, struggling to get started. I did it and you can too!

To anyone else who struggled to get going today, I see you, I know you, I am you.

One has to love a good high tea. Yesterday's one was themed Hansel and Gretel which was a bit fun. Normally I stick with the most basic black tea available but yesterday I branched out and tried two different ones.....fair to say while they smell lovely, I still prefer a normal black tea.
