Right now the pūriri are full of flowers supplying abundant nectar to the tui. They produce flowers almost all year-round, but mostly in the middle of winter when the tui need the nectar most. In return the tui pollinate the flowers which then turn into big red berries for the wood pigeons. The pūriri are Northern North Island trees. Their natural range extends from the the Far North to Taranaki in the west and Mahia in the east.

Please tell your friends and family the North is open for business and is welcoming visitors. Here is a great map that explains the Brynderwyns is under repair but there are three great alternative scenic routes available where you can visit remarkable locations and have unforgettable experiences, so do come on up. SH1 will be open for Easter but then be under repair for another 5 week so otherwise, take your time and venture north! The weather is beautiful til May at least, the water is warm and the welcome assured.
Please share this map with your family and friends all around the country. Encourage them to come on up and to share with others what makes us unique and exceptional!

The scenic route up through Laings beach etc is beautiful and only adds 15 mins to the trip up.
