Fishtail pendant
9ct yellow gold
Forging the billet to 20 percent thinner before annealing, 10ish mm to 8mm.
Enough fusion had happened that it held together, but not enough to be used as intended.
Where it went wrong.
I put it in the press upside down, not realizing the steel block was slightly shorter than the bolts. Meaning there wasn't enough pressure so only the center fused properly.
Heating a mokume gane billet, this is at a fusing temperature. Right after the video it went into the press.
