Are you looking for a thoughtful gift for your kids to give their Dad this Fathers day?
Mike Seymour from Dunedin has written this gorgeous book & teamed up with illustrator Tracey Warusevitane.
I wrote "My Dad" to show that love, tenderness, mundane chores and everyday comfort can, and does, come from dads all the time.
My experience as a dad of 3 wonderful children is amazing, challenging and fulfilling. But the experience is nothing like the expectation I had reflected back at me by books and media as I grew up.
I watch my friends who are dads who are much more than just the "goofball" dad or "work all hours" dad or the "lazy dad" tropes which permeated tv shows of my childhood.
I wanted to celebrate those dads and provide positive role modelling for the reader.
A big thank you to the dads who let us in to their lives to make this book a reality.

Circadian Rhythm is a small jewellery business run by Ilana.
This creative project began as a side hustle while she was studying a bachelor of physiotherapy at the University of Otago.
Little did she know she would continue this on while heading into the workforce!
Creating jewellery is a meditative space and amazing creative outlet for Ilana.
Indulge yourself in gorgeously detailed wrapped macrame gemstones or more dainty anklets, bracelets and simple necklaces at the Makers Lounge.
Maker Introduction.
Hayley from Halcyon Days.
" I started sewing as a teenager and quickly discovered that I could combine my passion for op shopping with repurposing and creating new from old.
This concept of slow fashion, with time invested to create a garment from remnant pieces, often with the size of the fabric piece dictating what could become, is satisfying on so many levels.
And coats quickly became my favourite thing to make!
I love the whole process of planning, preparing, cutting, and putting the finished garment together with the lining, buttons and accessories to suit the feel and style of the coat.
And who doesn't need a great winter coat in Dunedin?"
Maker Introduction.
Yvonne from W S Weaving.
I have always enjoyed craft and started weaving when I retired from my day job.
I love the planning, making and the excitement of the reveal as the article comes off the loom. Each piece is unique as I don’t enjoy making multiple items the same.
I started to sell my weaving as the weaving pile grew almost as fast as the pile of exciting yarns to use “next time”. Thanks to Rachael and Nathan of The Makers Lounge I have the opportunity to display some of my scarves and wraps for sale.

Lyndsay from
The life of my crafty creative items starts with my friend's sheep in Tapanui.
From shearing the sheep, washing, carding, and using hand spinning, knitting, crochet, weaving or felting skills, each item lives and breathes sustainability, natural, handmade, and locally made.
My products are slow craft.
Its not a high production factory and I don't have heaps of stock and that's because I am passionate about quality and uniqueness, and we all know that truly good things take time.
Wool is making a comeback in popularity and I'm glad to be playing a part in it, and it would be awesome if you'd also like to support a local fibre and textile artist that supports the wool industry.
