To celebrate Fathers we are holding a special Mainly Music session this Friday the 9th Sep at 6pm. We will serve sausages & bread with coleslaw, followed by some homemade baking for adults and an ice cream cone for children. We will then have some Mainly Music songs for Dads, grandads, or uncles to join in with the children. Mums can sit back and watch with a cup of tea, join in with older children or stay at home and relax.
If your family would like to come please text me on 0273146191 with numbers for catering purposes.

We will still have the morning sessions this Friday as usual.

Thanks
Helen and the Team

Happy Father's Day ... we love it when dads, grandads, uncles, and those special men in children's lives carve time out to engage with their children. This investment brings about a sense of belonging and reminds your children they are important in your life. Thank you.

Supporting positive behaviour can be so simple yet so important to the development of children's social and emotional skills. 💡

Sometimes changing the way we say things to avoid telling children what not to do, and instead suggesting what they should be doing, can influence a more positive response and result in valuable learning opportunities.

Below are some common examples for you to think about either with the tamariki in your centre, or at home with your own child.

Happy Mother's Day.
This is one of our favourite photos of a mumma - interacting with her pre-schooler while also holding baby safe and secure.
Being a parent is the most important work in life.
Blessings to all you mums, mums-to-be, grandmas, aunties, and carers who are 'Mother' in the lives of little ones.
We admire all that you do and all that you are.
Enjoy the day.

Hi everyone hope you all had a lovely Christmas and enjoying the summer break.

Mainly Music starts again Friday 11th February at the Lakeside Church, running two sessions back to back. One at 9.15a.m. & again at 10a.m.

As you are aware, on the 23rd January we moved into the Red Traffic Light Framework which will mean some more changes for us at Mainly Music when we start back on Friday 11 February.

Similar to Orange traffic light arrangements, while in Red traffic light both of our sessions will require a vaccination pass.

For those who can't attend in person, or who may be unwell, or just prefer to stay away, we will now be livestreaming the sessions, using the Lakeside church YouTube channel "Lakeside Church Te Anau"

We will post details of how to join the sessions on our page, including the props you will need for each session.

For those attending in person, to help keep each other safe and reduce the spread of the virus, we encourage each family to socially distance and adults are encouraged to wear masks; we understand that for health reasons some people are unable to wear masks.

Please stay at home and watch the livestream if you or your child are feeling unwell.

At this stage we won't be hosting morning tea in the building after each session , however please bring your own drinks and snacks for your children and if the weather is fine meet in the park next door, we will supply some baking for adult morning tea.

The Grace Place will open as usual during the Mainly Music sessions.

We know how much our families enjoy Mainly Music, as we love to run it, so we are committed to continuing as normally as possible during this Red traffic light time, while at the same being aware of keeping everyone safe.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any concerns or suggestions.

Tomorrow Friday 10th December at Mainly Music is our Christmas session and the last one for the year.
Please could you bring along a box, plastic tub or washing basket, which your child can sit in, have rides in or use as a drum? A big one that fits siblings is fine. Thread through some tinsel, tie on some soft toys, decorate with natural materials . . . Whatever you like. We will have a few extra Christmas boxes if you forget.

07/12/2021

As you are well aware on the 3rd December we moved into the Orange Traffic Light Framework which will mean some changes for us at Mainly Music which will begin this week the 10th December…our last session for the year and also our Christmas session.

Mainly Music here in Te Anau is run by two churches…The Anglican and Lakeside .
Each of these churches have requirements for gatherings as does the government, all of which we need to follow.

In order to meet these requirements, entry to both our sessions at this stage will require a vaccination pass.
This will begin this week and thank you to those who began the process last Friday.

Entry by vaccination pass is necessary if we are going to be able to run Mainly Music as normally and safely as possible : there will be no need to social distance, wear masks and we will be able to continue offering morning tea.
Without the requirement of vaccination passes we would be severely restricted and it would not be Mainly Music as we know it.

We will continue to look at other possibilities for a mixed gathering…perhaps a Teddy Bears Picnic at Ivor Wilson Park or The Lion’s Park, or possibly a mixed session on a separate day, or once a month. There may also be online sessions available provided by The Mainly Music organisation as there was in Lockdown. I will keep our page updated.

So let us continue to be kind and gentle with each other….even where there may be disagreement. if you have any concerns or suggestions please speak to one of the team.

Wahoo, mainly music is back on Friday 22 October!! Here are the Level 2 regulations to follow when you come to music:
- as usual, please stay home if you or your child is sick
- you will be required to sign in (QR code or on paper) for contact tracing purposes
- face masks and social distancing is not required for playgroups but where practicable, keep 1m distance between yourself and other adults. Face masks are up to you as an individual decision.
- morning tea will still be provided for children and parents, and designated food handlers will adhere to standard good hygiene practices.
For everyone’s protection, the hall and all toys and surfaces will be cleaned and disinfected before and after use.
See you on Friday everyone, we’re so excited to catch up with you all again!

Can you find a box to sit in as we sing together? It would be great to come with claves - two wooden spoons will work!
