Can anyone give the gorgeous Sumo a home? ❤️❤️❤️

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/ycxnB1semAiNVGCH/?mibextid=QwDbR1

SUMO has been waiting for his forever home for a few months now, can you believe it! Not a single application!

Sumo can't help but make the Ashburton team smile! He has a talent for the most bizarre (yet adorable) sleeping poses and is a pro at lounging upside down! It's like he has taken a crash course in yoga for cats. Sumo enjoys scritches behind his ears and will purr with constant delight!

Don't let his relaxed demeanor fool you, he is a master of playtime, feather wands being his favorite!

The Ashburton team are on a mission to find this chunky dude the best forever home! Sumo would prefer a home without dogs or young children as he is not familiar with them.

If you think you can provide SUMO the comfiest bed he has ever lounged on please apply for him today!

Foster home needed for Ed ♥

We are looking for a long term foster home for our handsome Beardie x, Ed. Ed has been in our care since he was a young pup and due to some health issues and failed trial adoptions, he is still in our care and we would love to see him in a foster home (or his forever home). Here's what you need to know Ed and the type of home that he needs:

🐾 He loves people!
🐾 He is fully house trained and can cope with longer hours home alone (or he could even come to work with you providing no other dogs are around)
🐾 He needs regular medication given (just pills) for his autoimmune disease and physio exercises done for his elbow/hip dysplasia
🐾 He could be in a home with a calm older dog providing there is careful introductions and good management in the home
🐾He could live with a cat, again he needs slow introductions and good management around the cat.

Ed has been through a lot in his short lifetime and through it all, he is still the sweetest, most resilient dog out there! If you are interested in being his foster parent, please complete an application form here: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dogwatch1928&method=online_form_html&formid=47

Or if you are interested in giving him a permanent home, you can read more about him here: https://dogwatch.co.nz/dog-adoption/ed/

Can you rehome these 3 beauties?

This adorable trio needs a home! 🐈🐈🐈‍⬛

Our newest arrivals Hugo, Benji and Kiki have unfortunately decided cafe life isn’t for them so we would love to find them a home sooner rather than later!

They are all so adorable and when you’re in a room with them it’s nothing but purrs! They can be a little reserved to start with but they’re actually very friendly and affectionate once they feel comfortable 🥰

We know it's a lot to ask but we would love to find them a home together as they are super bonded and spend most of their day cuddled up in a big ol’ fluffy pile. It’s not often we get siblings who are this attached to each other! They literally have no sense of personal space 😅

Hugo is super sweet and the most immediately friendly of the three although you do have to take things slow with him in the beginning. Once you’ve won him over, he is so smoochy and will purr as soon as he sees you.

Benji is very affectionate and does the cutest rolls and jump ups. He starts off a little shy but is quickly won over after a few pats. Once he trusts you he’s happy to be picked up and cuddled and tends to dribble when he’s happy.

Kiki is initially more shy than her brothers but she’s actually really brave and adventurous. Once you’ve gained her trust she does the biggest smooches. She’s loves her brothers a lot and is often smooshed in between them.

They get on well with our other cats and they are very friendly with us, it’s just noises and lots of people that are too much for them. They’d probably do best in a quiet home without young children or dogs.

Please get in touch with us if you would be interested to come and meet these three 😊

Can you offer a barn cat a forever home?

These cats are unsocial to humans and are best suited to live on a farm, horse stable, or other suitable outdoor location. We do have some semi-social cats that may warm up to humans in time, and we also have some bonded pairs of barn cats that need to be adopted together.

Veterinarian care has been given to all our barn cats to ensure they are healthy and desexed before arriving at their new home. Your responsibility will be to provide daily food and water, and protection from the elements. They will repay you with keeping your pest population down.

After a short period of secure confinement, the cats will learn this is their new barn home and will help keep rodents away.

You will enjoy watching the cats and have the satisfaction of giving them a much needed home. You’ll need to have your own property or have permission for long-term placement of animals on the property you rent. Best of all, this is a free service! But as we are a non profit charity, any donation is much appreciated. We will assist you while the cats settle into their new home.

If you would like to be part of our barn cat program, please contact us at [email protected]

Lots of lovely cats who need their forever home 🏠

28/06/2022

My name is Patty and I have been at the SPCA in Ashburton for 92 days waiting for my forever home. For some reason I haven't had anyone apply to adopt me yet!
I really want a forever family to call my own!
I would like to be an only pet because I am Princess Patty and I like all the attention to be on me!
I am a sweet girl and once I get to know you I will be your best friend and want lots of cuddles and attention.
I wouldn't mind living with older children that are respectful of my beauty sleep.
If you have a forever home for me please apply today via the link below. I would love a warm fire to curl up by for the winter.
