The fun happens on the paintball field, but the bonding happens in the safety zone.

I observed this kid first teaching an adult who to use a bow when he was only 5 years old. I was speachless. 

Today at 13 years old he had his first crack at doing the Archery Combat game briefings in front of 12 adults. And had an awesome first attempt.

For anyone who has done something like this, knows it's know easy feet, and really challenging those first few times.

Knowing the game like the back of your hand and teaching people the rules in a clear, concise way are two very different things.

Well done Angus!

Not a bad line up in The Playground carpark today.

Two Stag's arm wrestle as they past each other on Saturday. Boys dress in pretty outfits are still boys.

Great to have the Highlanders and Moana Pacifica back playing in Queenstown.

And just like that Angus's record of 5 01 minutes on the Ropes challenge which was a mammoth effort has been beaten. Well done Sam, well done. 4.37 minute. 😲

Look who came to visit us yesterday. Heather is one of our cherished staff members that did two seasons with us.
She was up inspecting all the improvements and changes that have taken place this season.

There is a saying about when you travel around you'll never be completely home again because parts of your heart are always somewhere else from the places you've visited. I sort of feel like that with our staff. We have so much respect and gratitude for them that when they leave to continue their journey I feel like a bit of The Playground is missing.

Meet Jordyn, one of our awesome team members, who has come home to Queenstown, for a few months between his 4th and 5th years of med. It's great having him on the team.
He has also taken on the role of pest control which we are all very grateful for.

Staff spend between an hour to an hour and a half filling in rabbit holes most mornings so participants don't roll ankles in them.

The Playground is looking for outgoing confident person to join our team as an Activities Coordinator for this rest of the summer in Queenstown.
This is a diverse and varied role, that allows you to unleash your inner child whilst at work! You will work with the small team in the day to day running of The Playground, specifically you will create a fun & playful atmosphere for our guests (mainly adults groups, but also some children groups), set up and lead The Playground activities at our rural headquarters and offsite locations, maintain & service our gear, perform groundsman type duties. You will be guaranteed a minimum of 30 hours per week from January, and will be required to work weekends during this fixed term period.
To be successful, you need to
- be confident and outgoing, in communicating to large groups
be confident initiating conversations with strangers
have extraordinary people skills
be physically fit
have a practical mindset
be reliable and trusted to work independently.

This guy is my Saturday hero. Raul takes time away from his family to help us when needed on Saturday. Because often we are so busy on Saturday that we need to bring a driver on to help out. Finding casual drivers in this town is always a challenge. So thank you Raul, you truly are my hero.

Meet Abbey, the newest member of team.
Orginally from Australia. Abbey spent the winter in Queenstown as a ski instructor. After having a few back to back winters around the world she was keen to enjoy a summer and experience all the Queenstown has to offer.
Welcome to The Playground family Abbey.

I love this photo. In her 70s and still keen to give The Playground activities a go.
It not necessarily about completing every component on the Ropes Challenge. Sometimes it's about proving to yourself you can still do some of them and be proud of that.

After the activities its always great watching the groups chilli out and share a story or too. These guys made use of our free bbq facilities and had burgers for lunch.
