Great to have a bit of sunshine today!
So this started happening the last wee while. It’s been a busy time tagging and weighing calves. With 50% of the heifers calves in the first week I’ve got to be pretty happy

Beautiful day for a scratch. One of our 2 year old bulls available in our September sale.
An early look at our 2 year old bulls available at our September sale.
Back into saleyard work today finally. Fencing off new staging area for our selection of 2 year old bulls available this September. We had hoped to have had this done last year before our first sale but simply ran out of time hence the reason some of the 2 year olds were shown in the cattle yards prior to the sale.
Newest member of the team “Rum” pictured closest. Pretty chilled dog
Some of the mixed age cows 6 weeks out from the start of calving.

Rolling Heights Bull Sale A great Kiwi farm day - prime bulls, great food, family and friends gathering for a good cause in the Spring sunshine! The Mānuka Collective is proud to be connected…
Another stud doing great charity work! Farmers really are the backbone of this country!
We are super proud to announce that in the memory of our daughter Kelly June Norman we raised a total of $8450 via our Bull sale on the September 19 this year. These funds will be split evenly between the two charities of choice on the day
- The Waikato NICU (new born intensive care unit) or WAIKIDS
- The Child Cancer Foundation
Both of these charity organisations have a personal tie to us here at the farm and they do amazing work in our communities and from time to time need our help.
If anyone wishes to pledge any money towards either of these charities you can do so directly through them or you can also contribute to our fund in the memory of our beautiful baby girl Kelly June Norman.
Been a busy couple of weeks here on the farm, after the sale things seemed to have been just as busy with the start of mating. Sorting cow and calf units to go to the appropriate bulls. It all takes time and is important step in producing quality calves.
A few action shots.
We had an absolutely epic day yesterday for our first on farm bull sale with a full catalog clearance of our bulls.
I’d like to thank my wife and daughter Emily and Isobel first and foremost for their support and Charlie and Marie Norman for their continued support and the opportunity to farm here.
I can’t thank everyone enough that mucked in on the lead up to our bull sale notably Charlie Limmer and Matt Asplet for all the hard work on farm and around the yards and Charlie for your continued guidance as I navigate through life and farm.
All of our sponsors on the day, there is just to many to mention here but you know who you are.
The team from New Zealand Farmers Livestock who have been behind us all the way from the start of our breeding program.
The amazing Marc Soper for pulling out all the stops with the unreal spread we had. We hope to get you back!
Troy Slater from for bring his skid steer up at the last minute and flicking some sand around and skimming up the yard with his levelling bar.
To our bidders and underbidders thank you for your strong buyer support and we hope the bulls go well for you and look forward to seeing you next year.
Last but not least all that attended on the day Thank you all so much for the support and guidance.
I must admit I was that busy I did not take one photo during the day but I will update at some point soon. We definitely had a few teething problems during the course of the sale and I thank everyone’s patience.
And in the memory of daughter Kelly June Norman we had great success around the raising of both awareness and funds for our 2 charities on the day The Waikato NICU and Child Cancer Foundation which we will have a final figure on in the coming days.
Thanks again!
